View Full Version : How to kill a human base ?

So is there anyone with a strategy to kill a human base with tribes, those proton canons are a little heavy and the auto repair on them is a little crazy too.
Seems to me that I have to keep fighting the base till the other guy runs out of money to win~ :bash:
Here a little gameexpirience about this. I had a onehour game against a human with cult. It
took me half an hour to gain mapcontrol with my lazy hatchling/fear/heal tactic. Then he only
had two bases left, right next to each other covered by a hillside and the mapborder. Only two
ways to attack. I killed his commander and army like 10 times, loosing nearly the whole
army every attack. Even teleport tricks or armysplitting and several officercombinations
didn't work. Attack more frequently failed also. I'm not the micromaster but it really is hard I think.
Oh and the human disconnected after an hour with a little flame against my fear and hatchlings :p
IIRC the human turrets don't cover the whole perrimeter -so if you can try to position yourself to face directly 1 turret only, then if it is done right you will be out of the range of the other two. Works fine with humans and cult - dunno about tribes,you will need ranged units for that.
Destroying one turrent wasn't the problem, believe me. But the other two where covered by at least the base, mapborder and/or hillside. Together with the baselaser and army it was a schlachtfest for the enemy every time.
Hm everytime you fight enemy's army at his home you have a good chance to recieve a swift kick in the ass,unless you outnumber him heavily. Well except the cult base. Try to lure him outside and then kill his troops - to fight upgraded base +army at the same time is a bit of a suicide (once again unless you outnumber him and have better qualitiy units)

I am for less DMG and more HP for bases.
I played few games where we were just to affraid to attack upgraded bases that was so boring and i was waiting for who will quit this first... it is a dead end.

yah I agree more HP less Damage bases pls >.>
hm why i dont hawe problems to kill human base with humans..... for me is much harder to kill tribe base
Hmmm maybe because you play the only race with pointable heal and can hold towerfocused
units on >50% without a problem. The other races have to run off out of range to safe the unit.
a shaman with renew and holy shock from the priest is a good way to keep your units alive
2 incinerates help some too
Ok and now the same for cult pls... my healers barely healout the cannons. While the enemy kills everything...

I was going to make a thread about this, but it already exists :P. So I guess you have to attack 1 turret at a time( if you're ranged ) and micro your hurt troops and heal them with Shaman/Priest :cheers: . Maybe there should be added some siege in the game.
The Cult doesn't have enough healing power to face the human base :(.
I have the same experience with these bases. I deathmatched human vs human and we were stuck in attacking each other not beying able to destroy enemys base. I gave up after cca 1h20min.
