View Full Version : What are you listening to?
Well, it's been kinda quiet around here recently, so I thought it's a good idea to revive one of the most popular threads from the times of the old Sunflowers forum. Especially since I heard today one of the best albums I could ever imagine - Ayreon's "01011001" (and the fact that it's a part of a series of rock operas makes it even better).
So, now I'm listening to it: Ayreon - Liquid Eternity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsA7sowKO5E)
great idea :)
Björk - Jóga (http://youtube.com/watch?v=CYP9lA-g1_I)
Between Angels and Demons

Toto - Hold The Line (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71IFbyQ7D-o)
Khoiba - Pathetic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u5ytjHCtR4)
sadly the band just broke up :(
Evergrey - When the walls go down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLyBmHrcH2Q)
Rammstein - SonneThat is one of their best :go:
Firelake - Against Ionized odds (s.t.a.l.k.e.r. OST)
That is one of their best :go:
Though I like the Russian version even more... :go:
Samuel Barber's Adagio for strings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkObnNQCMtM) - one of the best pieces of music ever
Though I like the Russian version even more... :go:Why is that?
Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre été: L'après midi
(actually the whole CD, but abovementioned instrumental [piano] is so good!)
Why is that?
The Russian version, Solnce, sounds kinda better. And, well, I'm Bulgarian, so it also sounds a bit closer to my home... ;)
Ayreon - Day 11, Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBvh83SEvCc) - getting addicted to that song
Edit: Desislava, Melinda and Slavei quartet - Devoiko mari hubava (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xV48GwNHSg)
Why is that?
Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre été: L'après midi
(actually the whole CD, but abovementioned instrumental [piano] is so good!)
Yann Tiersen is really good, I love his instrumentals :)
PS: I actually "listen" to recitation of The Little Prince :D
Of De Saint Exupery? Great, one of the favourite books! ;) :go:
Ayreon - Come Back To Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qibv827DSAc)

Stenli - Obseben (Possessed) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns8KOmdoHOQ) (btw, be advised that the clip is not for people who easily get disgusted (half of the clip is with a movie made by Salvador Dali))
Edit: Btw, I just tried to quickly translate the lyrics to a friend of ours, so I thought I'd post them here too, so you can enhoy the brilliant surrealistic chaos in them... ;)
The silence is your name in mind
every cloud bears your pefume
all the trains lead to your tunnel
through my corpse I'm always after you.
I seek, I crawl, everyday and pale
every inhale is a square to you
and everywhere you have just been
and behind the corner you've just hidden.
Refrain:
How to stop you
I have no hands,
I have no face,
somebody took it...
But I'll forgive
the whole hell
the whole world
somebody took it...
/na na na na... yeah/ - 2x
You're the chaos in me
a bullet-hole
you, rotten fruit
white cosmic sound
you, darkened city
a puff of perfume
and laughter in a sad day
fruit of a sick mind.
Black truths are crawling in my body
all the shots bend back
my love is a lightened grass
infested flesh - tumour in my head
Refrain...
And now PIF - Prikazka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkrsG5rS5_Q)
Even more edit: And since I'm still listening to the collection of 500 best BG songs (currently on №112), here it is - Doni i Momchil - Utrinna syanka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONWFDzit4-Q)
Another German from the forum got me hooked up on this - "Die Streuner - Zehn Orks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93IyYKAcTos)".
Edit: City of Prague Philharmonic - Twilight and Shadow. Btw, am I the only one listening to music lately?
after some time I heard this song in a bar.. so I took some Pearl Jam again..
here we go:
Do The Evolution (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=copOYXvEsRs)
IMO the best Pearl Jam song and definitely the best animated clip I've ever seen :-)

Totally agree with you NikeBG. Did you ever see the 'concert' scene in Sacred 2 ? The music is amazing !
Whenever I hear Blind Guardian, i remember Gamma Ray (http://www.last.fm/music/Gamma+Ray), pretty much similar band. I've been listening to them both some years ago, they're somehow connected. It looks like GR founder worked with BG and learned from them well. :)

Yeah, that's the clip from my link. Makes me want to get the game - devs/producers should most definitely take a lesson from this (though I heard Sacred 2's devs went bankrupt after the release, but nevermind that  ).

I've listened a bit to Gamma Ray too, but somehow they didn't really grab me that much, they seem a bit too light for me maybe. Though I did like Savage Circus, which also has a BG-trace - it was founded by BG's former drummer and has a strong BG spirit too.

So sad that Ascaron is bankrupt. I bought their game and it's great ! I can't understand why it was sold only 400.000 times ! Sacred 1 is much worse than Sacred 2 IMO. So if you want to support Ascaron buy the add-on ! This great game producer shouldn't be lost on EA games or crap like this.

Track 2 of the soundtrack of Tzar: Burden of the Crown. Ah, great old days (and, ah, horrible pathfinding (and, ah, me reading LotR and the Hobbit (I like to repeatedly listen some music while reading some good novel and associate the two)))...
