This second Knights of Honor patch has not only implemented new features and exciting changes, but several bugs have also been fixed.

Patch Download (http://worldshift-game.com/updates/koh/KoH_Patch_105_GER_UK_FRA.zip)

Have fun, cheers!

Patch 1.05 notes:

Attention modders!
• NEW: Many AI tweaks are now available in: defs\difficulty.in2 and defs\globals.in2 ([AI] section).

Fixes
• FIX: AI marshals now recruit siege squads.
• FIX: AI now imports exotic goods if it can afford them, so it can gain access to kingdom advantages.
• FIX: AI squad-buying code is reworked. Now AI marshals hire more mercenaries and more often disband weaker units to free slots for stronger ones.
NOTE: Crusader armies don’t recruit new squads by design. Their existing squads are periodically refilled (the period is tweakable).
• FIX: AI now uses the correct (read: higher) caps for the number of the invading armies when attacking the player at ‘normal’ and ‘hard’ difficulties.
• FIX: AI now requires its armies to be fuller when sending them to invade or defend provinces. The exact threshold values are tweakable.
• FIX: Fixed an issue with the morale of Byzantine armies.
• FIX: AI marshals that are returning defeated (with few soldiers left) from a conquest no longer try to attack enemy armies on their way to the homeland (but may still decide to reinforce a battle).
• FIX: Fixed a glitch that sometimes caused sailing AI armies to get stuck at sea.
• FIX: Camping/fortified AI marshals now consider reinforcing nearby battles.

New features
• NEW: As the player’s kingdom grows, neighbouring AI kingdoms now get more hostile to the player and friendlier to their other neighbours (tweakable).
• NEW: Mercenary camps are now visible on the minimap (light grey squares with a black dot in the middle).
• NEW: When building town improvements, entries with unsatisfied requirements other than gold are now shown in red (instead of being darkened). A darkened item now means that the only unsatisfied requirement for building it is gold (such items weren’t marked at all until now).
• NEW: Added tweaks for modifying AI’s and player’s gold income. The default values in the data files are:
o for the player: 100% at all difficulty levels
o for the AI – 100%, 125% and 150% for ‘easy’, ‘normal’, and ‘hard’ respectively
NOTE: The change is not visible through the interface, it affects directly what is added to the treasury.
• NEW: Reuniting events now may define the titles in the resulting country (for the ruler, the ruler’s wife, the knights and the country itself).
• NEW: Top five most powerful AI kingdoms have defence bonus when fighting on their own territory.

Changes
• CHANGE: Increased reinforce radius for AI armies.
• CHANGE: AI marshals no more blindly chase an enemy army into a castle but give themselves a chance to reconsider.
• CHANGE: Reduced the income from traders. If a trader from kingdom A trades with kingdom B, the new rules that apply are as follows.
o Trade goods and exotic goods owned by A but not B no more affect profits.
o It is no longer the sum of all of B's towns levels but the average town level, that gets added to the profit.
o Markets and merchant guilds of B now affect the profit more.
o ‘Silk Route’ kingdom advantage still doubles the profits as before.
o All traders now receive a fixed bonus of 10 gold (by default). It is applied before applying the trader’s level.
o The influence of a trader’s level over his profit is now greater.
• CHANGE: Lowered the direct gold income from the king’s economy skill.
• CHANGE: Increased gold bonus of merchants’ guilds.
• CHANGE: Decreased the ranges of longbow men and ballistae.
• CHANGE: Increased the ranges of crossbow men and heavy crossbow men.
• CHANGE: Slightly decreased the ‘base chance to hit’ value for all bow/crossbow units.
• CHANGE: Decreased bonuses from Ballistics skill.
• CHANGE: ‘No friendly fire’ marshal ability (Archer master, 3rd level) no longer eliminates losses from friendly fire but instead halves them.
• CHANGE: Colouring of religions in the political map has been improved.
• CHANGE: The icons of available princes/princesses are now shown together with the royal wedding icons in the political map.
• CHANGE: Changed the priority calculation for the ‘reinforce battle’ action of AI marshals and made it tweakable. Priority for reinforcing a battle at a castle has an additional weight bonus (also tweakable).
• CHANGE: ‘Night march’ morale penalty for armies is removed.
• CHANGE: AI now also appoints family members as knights.
• CHANGE: The starting cost and activation time of importing goods have been reduced.

Uhm... Was that a Bulgarian "We will see about this..." or an international one? ;)

Doux, I'd re-formulate Frujin's answer to also very well known phrase in the Orient: "Inshallah" what in language we all speak means something like: "well, if everything will go well or rather more than well and better than we could expect, something you'd like to have tomorrow might be done next month.. or never" :D

but I agree that from all questions Frujin was asked this one was the last one I'd expect him to answer :D

well, but I like people who you can't "read" what they will do...

except those I asked for something :D

We will really see .. But, compiling a list of issues will never hurt. It's is NOT a promise!

I think, Patch 1.05 is very senseless.

It's not very good, specialy this dealing things...

I had a merchant, who merchandised witch Byzantia 800 AC...and he just earned 4 gold...

I don't like that, because if you pick a small country, you wouldn't have any gold to start economy and war...

Hopefully there will be a patch, who especialy makes the Mapeditor more stable. :go:

elvain
27 Jul 2007, 21:36
well, that lower mtrade income was one of my favourite changes: small countries should have it extremely hard to earn money... they need looooooong and bit annoying starts, but that what makes the spell ;)

IWM
28 Jul 2007, 04:39
Ok then .Who want to make a thread of Issue?

NikeBG
29 Jul 2007, 10:43
I agree with Elvain - the lower trade income is one of the new things in the second patch, which I found really great and increasing the gameplay difficulty - something, from which everybody complained a lot before. The only bad thing in the second patch is the map problem - I can no longer see where I'm able to build/train/gather this or that building/unit/trade good. I don't know if that's the expected behaviour or a secondary bug (to further make the game harder), but I don't think it was necessary...

Btw, Elvain, should I presume "Inshallah" means "(if it's) God's will"?

IWM
30 Jul 2007, 17:06
Well in here(Indonesia) we prononcued it Insya Allah. Anyway that mean that
"If Allah let me".The sentence is very important to anyone who want to make promises(At least for those who has Islam as his/her religion)Because if someone promised then he can't fullfill that promise then tHey is guilty about that.(Example,Died.)So Elvain used a lot of the word.(Sorry I am hasty because I now don't be able to use computer so Bye!

What are you talking about?

I started with Walachia and conquered all Europe! It was great! There is no such thing as a country being too small. IMO the game is still way too easy. You can start with any country and build up in no time a great army. Even when you conquer the Papal state, every Christian nation will declare war and I still won.

I recently started playing KOH again with the 1.05 patch, and the game has been kicking my butt.

I'm impressed with all the modifications and improvements, except one. Please bring back the building/unit availability stripes. The missing stripes are sorely missed, and detract from my enjoyment of the game. Thank you in advance.

EDIT:
Wanted to add a couple more issues that I found:
-I recently inherited some provinces from the Fatimids and got into a battle with them in one of those newly acquired provinces. A rebel/loyalist army sprung up (white/Fatimid flag), and the text read as if they would be helping me against the Fatimids, when in actuality, they reinforced the Fatimid army against me.

-The other issue has happened to me twice, up near the Ufa area. The test said that due to a rebellion we lost some provinces, when in actuality, another kingdom lost a province to my kingdom. It's been Kazan losing a province to the Mongol Horde once, and another time it was Kazan losing a province to Kiev.

EDIT:
One other item that's a minor grammatical issue is when an enemy knight dies in your dungeon. The information message is grammatically wrong. Say you are playing as Spain ... it will say "Count xxx could not survive in the dungeons of Spanish".
Better grammar would be "Count xxx did not survive in the Spanish dungeons" or "Count xxx did not survive in the dungeons of Spain".

Hello, I'm a great fan of the game and I just came across this forum I was reading around and I read that the new 1.05 patch had some problems, but as far as I remember all of those remarks were old, so my question is: Is the patch working perfectly at the moment or are there still some problems with it.

Mephistopheles

As far as I know there are no major problems with the latest patch.
