Here the WorldShift-Review of 4Players, sadly its in german but i have to say its pretty bad and they havent really took their time play & test:
Link to Review (http://www.4players.de/rendersite.php?world=4players&LAYOUT=dispbericht&BERICHTID=58758&ACTIVE=magazine&SYSTEM=PC-CDROM)

Ive written my comment to that. Maybe we should make a list of people that want a new review of the game, thats written objectivly and correct. Something like a petition.

@Frujin: Sry for the german topic but it just pissed me off to read the article and then the comments of Bodo. They called us fanboys and even said we may working for RTL to protect our game. Many people decide on a review wether they should buy a game or not, so this will maybe scare some potential buyers of the game. thats pretty bad for the WS-Community

Hello Guys,

The official language of the forum is English. Please follow the rules. I said this many times, but I feel this time I need to explain what the reasons are behind that.

1. Black Sea is small company, we are 25 people total and we can't afford to have serious moderation crew.

2. Most of us speak two languages - English and Bulgarian - and those are the languages we can moderate only.

3. English is more or less the 'world' language so it does fine when players from different countries needs to talk to each other.

4. We can moderate posts in Bulgarian too as well, but if we allow Bulgarian, than all other language speaking players will rightfully ask for us to allow their mother language as well - and we will have to refuse - since we won't be able to moderate.

So, English seems as the only choice we have and we are dedicated to stick to that decision. It hurts me sometimes to delete posts in German, in Bulgarian and few times in Russian, even when they are acutally very kind and very 'positive' towards us and WorldShift .. but guys, please understand us, we have no other choice for now.

BUT, we are looking around the net, and when/if some forums based on other languages are formed and take a good shape, we will link to them and we will support them as much as we can.

@Dante: Please, I am leaving your post as is, and I am sure you will translate it to English after you read this.

/Cheers

Who cares about 4players? Servers and online-adds. Thats what they are made off. And people who work for a brand
that stands just for that... are a bit naive. Maybe they need references for their later life as an "game-journalist".
Don't know, don't care.

As a fan- and news-network they have to compete with way bigger constructs, thats what I think at least. And they can't.

PS: I don't count the fansites, they are mostly made by the community. No content branded by 4players. The test-section
is from the main site.

PPS: And I don't say the author is bad or something, he's just too old to do this shit good. Look on other people, like
escapists "zero punctuation" Yhatzee Croshaw (google it, real great). Thats how we want to see bad games bashed.
4players completely blended out the background of the game, blacksea. 50mio$ budget? No. 200 People working on it?
No. Help by a major publisher? No.

Actually I don't trust game review sites- no matter how big they are (well maybe I trust the bigger even less). If the game they are reviewing is some huge title or accidently the publisher has payed for game's add on the site the verdict will be from 85% above. If the game is not so well-known, made by a small company odds are good it won't get more than 60-70 %.

For example - on some places ppl criticized the lack of building in WS . While in games like sudden strike or ground control that was applauded . Don't get me wrong -both SS and GC are pwnage and I love them,I just wanted to point how sometimes ppl make up "arguments" to lower the score

Think about who would have made the test if they had a worldshift fansite? And how it would had look like? ;)

but it sets WS in the light... it prevents some potential players from playing the game. its our community thats suffering from that review

But it's one of the smaller lights in the german market, and RTL aka Black Inc. will milk it anyway over here (Im actually from switzerland ;) ).

PS: I messed up the names before, then I checked the RTLGames website, Black Inc is a "project" by them to publish "hardcore games". I can remember some "RTL Skispringen"-TV adds, maybe there is a worldshift add coming ;). Dont get me wrong Blacksea, please, I have no idea how much you guy's earn. But 25 germans working on a ski-jumping game wich sells for 20 euros costs probably as much as 25 bulgarians producing a "real" game wich sells for 35 euros. I dont say this is anything bad. It's actually great that they are spending their money for creative people with good ideas.

PPS: And IF there would be a tv-add, dont take it too serious. Both sides, blacksea and fans. RTL has hell lot of spare add-time. And it will only attract random buyers. Not much impact on sales but in people who know the game, maybe even the producer, blacksea. Mindstorming further... think about ESL-TV sells its HD-content to RTL? This game could be a great start. Think about a Publisher with an own e-sport section in a main tv-station. 4 countrys, the complete german market with a XXhour/week presence on tv. Publishing a game in all 3 main media-directions, online, offline and tv.

Lalala smoking the forth maryj, here an add-concept. Placing paper/online adds with an date for a show about the game on RTL, pay ESL TV 5kEuro, maybe together with an microsoft add it would cost even less. They produce a 30min show with 3 players and 2 moderators in a great coopgame, tadaa. The show is everywhere, youtube, fansites, paper-dvds. +20k sold units ;). I mean, ESLTV allready "works" for microsoft. At least they try ;). I think they have no problem getting a little extra money.

Well, the game is not flawless. The old betatesters knows that we at BSS never pretended that. We always admitted our mystakes and always tried to fix problems asap - actually faster than many other developers.

I think it all started with their "preview". There were huge number of pure factological mystakes into it and for me it was clear that they did not spent any effort to play the game. We fetched logs from the servers and let me tell you what their preview was based on:

Single players: Died in mission 1, Completed mission 1, Completed mission 2, Died in mission 3 .. and that's it

Co-op: Never ever killed a boss, started safari .. wiped in few minutes .. and that was.
Never played DM at all... may be couple of practice games.

Total time they spent in the game was around 30min. Or sort of ..

Review was not based on much more work as well. They are just funny ...

well, i read the post now,

and it seems to be a post from a strategie noob ... sry to say that
He makes all the time comparisons with blizzard and finally say the game is one of the worst he ever played (not literal).

I dont know the guy, but he seems to be a campagne player and not played any multiplayer strategie in his last 10 years.

Because of that he gets this bad impression. And because of him there are now about 10 german players who will not buy the game anymore .

You think now - who cares ? - well I care !
i am fury because of that guy... :bash:

FFS What are those guys who die in mission 1 or can't find the way to the end? They have some serious issues. Come on the first 3-4 levels are piece of cake! I beat them long ago in Closed Beta when there were no markers to tell you where to go and I beat them the first try.

yeah...this "test" su..s.
I bet they gave such a bad ranking because bss is not big like blizzard or others, so they are not dependent on bss to get preview versions of their games.

result:
They "tested" the game in round about 30 minutes and wrote an inexactly article about it.
