it is not too far now, so anyone interested in football (soccer for Americans)?
any tips, or anything?
Groups:
Group A: Portugal, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey
Group B: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland
Group C: France, Italy, Holland, Romania
Group D: Greece, Russia, Spain, Sweden
Quarterfinals:
1. Winner A - Runner up B
2. Winner B - Runner up A
3. Winner C - Runner up D
4. Winner D - Runner up C
Semifinals:
5. Winner 1 - Winner 2
6. Winner 3 - Winner 4
Final:
Winner 5 - Winner 6

my personal tip is thet Czech team will be big disappointment as Rosický is going to miss and all our forwards suck (Koller too old, Baro out of form, all others too unexperienced)
I think the winner will be one of Germany, Portugal or Holland
The group Holland is in, is very hard and unpredictable.
Getting through the first round will be most important for those teams. If they manage that, they will definately have a big chance.
Btw, congrats for yesterday's win against Switzerland, Elvain! ;)
thanks, but poor Switzerand, they deserved a draw.. I didn't expect much from our team as Rosický is out, but still they played even worse than I expected :bash:
Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania - my favs ;)
I hope Poland would win with Austria, but I think that will be hard... And with Germany and Croatia we don't have any chance.

Well, in 2006 the polish team was very far from "not having any chance" against the german team.
Though the germans have a slightly more positive memory of the end of that game, guess ;) .
By the way, I hope France and Italy make it through to the quarterfinals. So the Netherlands don't. :)

that was pathetic... we had to win and our coach thought only about defence oO
i knew that we would loose and when all my friends were happy at the end i knew that sth would happen. it happened :P

Holland will go to the finals.
right, Holland and Germany were the most impressive yet
hm, i won't say Germany was- they played as usual ;)
Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland- they were impressive (for me)

I was really split during the Italy-Netherlands game. Being german I demand that dutch football players should fail at everything involving balls. On the other hand italy played so pathetically that even the dutch should teach them a lesson.
Well, there are still many games left for the dutch to be sent home weeping. :)
Spain should be mentioned on the 'impressive performances' list.

If it isn't clear now that the Netherlands go to the finals... ;)

now in poland all want beenhakker to retire, before euro they wanted to give him polish citizenship...

The championship has been panning out very interestingly so far. Basically every team except the dutch one had it's ups and downs (they only had ups so far :) ) so I really think anything can happen.

Okay, that's it! I'm hereby changing my nationality to...Carribian!
Sweden 0-2 Russia; Worst. Match. Ever.
Both teams stank with the only exception that the russians were alot faster then the swedes. That's for only having old craggy fellows on the lineup, Lagerbäck!
Gah.
I'm going back to bed. Wake me when Sweden manages well in some cup.
