View Full Version : Maybe a stupide question: GhZ versus Ram?

I am not the brightest when it comes to computers and there's something i was wondering for some time.

What is worse: not having the requirements for Ghz (ex: 1.8 instead of 2.2) or not having enough Ram (ex 512 MB instead of 1 GB)?

What is the consequence of not having enough Ghz?

Thanks

RAM is more important if the Ghz difference is not big(like those 400mhz)

It's not that easy to answer. It depends on what requirements your games have. There is always one limiting factor in a computer, so both are equally important.

The consequency of having too few GHz for a game is that you'll have to lower it's detail setting, 'AI distance' setting or for example the sound quality or otherwise the game would stutter. Having few RAM can also make the game stutter because it has to refresh the RAM contents very much.
