I believe he's stating that game got patched every year since the release..
Or that inferring from the dates of patch releases Knights of Honor 1.0 must have existed already in 2002, to be released not until 2004! But if we would continue this logic.. Knights of Honor 0.1 (the idea) was already in someone's head in 1993!

KoH was not released until 2004, the first patch released was patch 1.02, made and released not long after the release of the game. The patch 1.01 was probably made and applied after the beta, prior to release of the game.
There was no patch 1.04 released.
Dobber is right - 1.0.1 and 1.0.4 were testing versions. Or in other words - BSS progressed from 0.0.1 through 0.0.2 etc, till they reach edgold candidate status. Apparently, the testers have found some issues on 1.0.0 and 1.0.1, which were fixed and confirmed in 1.0.2, the game being released with this version. 1.0.3 was the patch after the gamer's "testing" and the testers hadn't found additional issues. 1.0.4 was again an internal testing version and 1.0.5 had fixed and confirmed the issues found on 1.0.4 thus getting released as 1.0.5.
