and that general mode: I like it, though it might be boring in some parts.. it also fits to my "noble" suggestion - to play as a noble, you get a fief from your lord (a castle) and in this very mode you can upgrade it personaly (even place buildings where you want-?), create new villages and later on, expand your influence on other castles (buy them or get them as another fief or conquer).. and maybe even upgrade them into cities and become a grand map player

I like that idea...i'd like to be able (very much like in Lords of the realm 2) to decide if i want more food produced (farms), stones (quarry) or iron (for example).

A nice thing would be to increase the effects of supply...an army deep into enemy territory should see it's supply disappear faster and it should be possible to send supply...and if the convoy is captured by the enemy, your army would be in deep trouble...therefore you should always send an escort with it...

Cheers

I would want to see anolian map corectly and more detail.some castle hasnt got correct name and i saw little bit mistake.seljuks and ottoman never stand up together.when the seljuck down after that turks established ottoman.and the castle of kurdistan is not fact.it must be called Rum. However Anoptolian need 2 more castle in the middle and the west part.
Jihad need more detail.

I hope that it will be new things like united tribes. Similar to uniting Ireland.
For example uniting Balts can be done by owning provinces: Vilnius, Samogitia, Curland, Livonia, Prussia and Smolensk. Well it will be not very accurate but very near reality of those ages.
Also it should be no need to "adopting" population for those lands.
Paganism should be improved it wasn't so low level religion. It was some kind of paganism "churches" and they had big affect to people and because of that we can say that military cost were lower and spirit higher.

Well if there is need I can help :)

"I approve of all these suggestion"- IWM

My suggestion:

It is must be possible to send exploration party to unknown land (to Asia , Central / South Africa, and America.), even though it will be very costly.

Also makes pirates that is historically correct. And the kingdoms can ally / vassalize the pirates.

A suggestion towards rebels,

I had a few times while playing wow that i gota rebel poppuing up on the other side of the map, while my marshals where fighting on the other side.

Could it be possible to send a small garrison unit(not the standard ones offcourse but the one you can implent for defence) towards the rebels or an diplomat to try to bribe them or stalling them with anything.
And offcourse a spy(or you can calll it diffrently as a spy does not do that exactly.) that can really slow the mdown by setting traps etc.

So much to read in here..

Sounds like KoH2 is possible. the problem is, if they haven't started working on it, it will be a very long time until it sees the light of day :(

It's a shame that KoH1 didn't release the source code... Then die hard fans could improve it :)

If it's possible, have Genghis Khan/the Mongols for the importance. Will it be only Europe again? I whish there was Asia or at least a bit of it.

Ideas -

1. The main point I want to bring up is please don't dumb down the game. The original Knights of Honor was a fun and complex game which took time to learn, but comes out to be one of the funnest games ever.

Now then;

2. A Map Editor or Scenario/battle Creator. Knights of Honor had a random battle map, but the only way to have a custom battle was Online and you couldn't have it against AI.

3. With that, don't leave cooler features for Online only. There is nobody, ever, online, so it is almost wasted space now. I never got to experience it.

4. Implement Fire. Fire was very important. There could be a troop with all torches which will make night time in the campaign maps brighter, or you could add it to some soldiers during night and attacks.

5. A 'Historic Mode.' If Knights of Honor II will follow the same principles as the original, then have a mode called Historic Mode. It could be about 5 - 10 different campaigns of parts of Europe zoomed in. For instance, there could be the Hundred Years War Campaign with just England and France, there could be the Spanish and Moors, there could be Byzantines and Ottomans, etc. If you made a Map Editor though this wouldn't be needed for people could make it on there own.

6. If KoH II will be as complex as KoH, in the tutorial mention the ability to zoom into the mini map to find your location. Back when I first got Knights of Honor (2005?) I was so lost at first because I accidentally scrolled off the campaign map and couldn't find my way back. The minimap was too zoomed out for me to find it useful then and I was a small nation so the white was hard to find. Just a small suggestion.

7. One big one, however would be random events. Possibly having a plague, earth Quake, merchant finding large gold amounts, etc.

8. Another big one would be having the villages play a more important Roll. Currently, they are the resources for a castle. If they are all gone, the castle gets barely anything thus making sieging a castle slightly easier. This is pretty important, and should be added, however there could be more to it. For instance, they could riot and send a few peasants against you in a Jihaad manner, there should be a small garrison of peasants in the villages for when they are raided for most medieval villagemen would defend there families, and you could possibly have a building tree branching as far as having them have a very small palisade. Though that would greatly increase the micromanaging so there could be an auto manage option for that when you get too large and too powerful.

9. Another idea would be to have more diplomatic freedoms and the ability to choose individually trade, pact of non aggression and alliance pact . If, say, I didn't want to trade with someone but I wanted a Pact of Non Aggression, I should be able to do so. If I sign a sole alliance pact, a pact of non aggression and trade should happen.

10. Also, if that is implemented there shouldn't be as powerful of an impact when breaking sole pact of non aggressions.

11. There should be an ability for war to happen while AI is neutral but in negative relation to you. For instance, Your Epirus and a Neutral Athens army walks into your territory. Athens has a low relation with you, and starts attacking your castle issuing war. This surprise attack automatically starts a war. I felt it a little silly at first that the AI always declares war and takes some time to prepare, also letting you prepare. If I was a military leader, I would attack when least expected - in peace time.

12. You could possibly add a delay for units to be trained as well. If you just sit there and don't build troops, then someone declares war, you shouldn't be able to pop out an army in 0.05 seconds and beat them, then remove of the army in the same manner. Troops should be valued.

13. Food should also have a larger impact on soldiers. Soldiers should die and desert and not just lose moral. I don't find food that important in KoH. I always keep my troops fed because it is the morally right thing to do, but when I go on long campaigns food is not a concern of mine since it has little impact. I do like to play fair, though, so when I am low I raid villages but still it isn't a necessity.

Well thats enough for now, I could keep on going but I think this is a good list of good things to implement. What do you think? I'll number these too for easier reference.

I have a new idea Has been raised here:
http://forums.blackseastudios.com/showthread.php?p=14406#post14406

The idea is to be the new head of the revolution in any country chosen on the map
Can I be the head of the rebels in the game Knights of Honor And any chosen region of the revolution ?

If it can not, can the game designers to put this option in the second edition

I prefer to be the President of the revolution and the foundations of my new state and start from any city on the map
Adhanha a great idea to establish and then continue to the end

Hmmm.... interestnig topic.
I was too lazy to read everything myself, but I will later.

Now, I think I'm going to write my own ideas. Let's see...

1. More varierity in Reunion quests.
I know. This can be implented in with mods in KoH, and I also made my own quests.
What I'm saying that....
If you are with the Byzantines or the Italians, you should be able to reunite the whole Roman Empire.
If you're with the French or Germans, yo ushould be able to reunite the Frankish Empire.
If you're with the Welsh or the Scottish, you should be able to reunite Britannia.
Or even better: unite the Kalmar Union, with Denmark, Norway or Sweden.
2. More and more provincies
Ah hell yeah!
That 168 (as far as I remember) is just not enough. We need more.
Maybe we should make a larger map, with the same stuff, just more detail, like Saxony would be 2 provincies (Lower Saxony and Upper Saxony) and stuff like that. Or maybe just make the map stretch more: it should introduce new places, like Persia, Siberia.
3. Gunpowder
Yes, why not? Gunpowder weapons.
Extremely powerfull and yet cheap, however is slow, inaccurate and unreliable.
I'd love to see some canons and musketeers in.
4. The Amerikas.
Give us an oportunity to conquer the Americas!
Or to play as the Natives, like the Aztecs!
5. Give us a more realistic Holy Roman Empire
Yepp.
It shoudn't be just 1 Kingdom.
It should be many kingdoms (like the Duchy of Saxony), being vassals and allies (both vassals and allies at the same time) of the Emperor, who's provincie is in.... Rome? Or Austria?
6. More varierity of units
Kinda like this:
http://www.totalwar.org/strategy/twug/mtw/index.html
7. Large armies
30-40 men per squad? Are you kidding me?
I want at least 80 men in 1 squad.
And anyway: 9 squads are just not enough. I want more!
And also, more knights should be able to hire. I don't like the current limit.
8. Pirates?
Why not? Those should be troublecausing naval armies. If you ignore them, they might grow too powerfull and eventaully attempt to conquer one of your provincies. If that happens, the pirates will have headquarters, and well.... it will increase the problems caused by pirates.
9. Improved Royal Families
Yes. Like the ability to track the bloodline, to see what sort of dynasty your king/prince/princess is from, and stuff like that.
However, some factions - like the Teutonic Order - should NOT have any form of Royal Family. Just one Grand Master, and if he dies, your best marshall will continue to lead the order.
10. More realistic Jihads?
Yes.
I'm not Muslim, but I know some things about Islam. Jihad is about conquest and spreading the faith. Not about defense. So it should be kinda like a Crusade - your marshall will lead a large army to capture a specific provincie from a specific kingdom.
11. More complicated Vassallage?
Kinda. I usually send spies to my vassals, but they don't hire merchants, and I don't feel like cheating. So... it would be the best to give an opnion to wage war on the vassal. Like, he's disobidient, he's growing too strong, so I gona make sure he won't proclaim independence. You know.
12. Multiplayer on Europe Map - Great Campaign!
The dream that all of us have.
13. Invasion
Why do you actualy have to... declare war to attack? That makes no sense. You should be able to attack the enemy any time you want. However, if you invade their country, they'll Declare War on you. Fair, isn't it?

Many good ideas ..
The game has a really big potential :)
