In the Centre of a Kingdom is the Castle (town) and support comes from the villages, monasteries, and peasant farms. Each new building give, if possible, the villages and monasteries, and peasant farms more power. The opposing army will loot the villages, monasteries, and peasant farms and burn to weaken the Castle. The Castle (town) has only the value of 1 for piety, food, workers, and gold. Books are written in the monasteries. The Builder and landlord is vital in the early stages of a Kingdom. Also the opponents will recruit the Builder and landlord. The opponent will acquire maximum only two merchants. Merchants are not important for the opponents, because the incomes are diffrent. Only the king can have a profession . He can no longer change the profession.
Prisoners can no longer be released without ransom.
This mod have not tax income from the taxrate normal tax or tyranical tax. The dark age know only town tributes, lot of the peoble can only pay tax with animals or crop/harvest. In the later course of the game, the merchants are less important, because the main income will be the tribute of the city. The player will enjoy reasonably normal without prejudice to the game until the conquest of the fifth Castle in the game difficulty.
In the level of difficulty hard and heroic are the benefits the part of the opponent and it's quite hard to conclude peace (or other agreement).
Open battles 1 v 1 will you often lose or win with heavy losses. Cities without a Marshal are often unprotected against enemy forces.
If you would like to further increase the level of difficulty of the game, put up in the initial settings of the game during the battles break out.
The import costs for exotic products have been reduced.
Through the acquisition of Royal achievement Silk Road are the WINS no longer doubled but increased only by half.
Catapults on the wall shoot only 1 to 3 floors instead of 3 to 6. Their bullet dispersion has been increased.
Floor spread of Eckturm floors and Balliste Tower floors has been increased.
Slightly reduces attrition values.
The AI is to build all defenses of a city. There will be a new building: the Konstrukteurhaus. The siege weapons have been modified in the minimum and maximum range. With the siege weapons, it is no longer possible to eliminate the AI up to the last man. Were improved the text and the values for the rout of the corner towers, Balliste towers, catapults and tar boilers reduced.
The moat has been removed.
The AI builds all the buildings. Merchant guilds are not uncommon and the mosque is built also.
The recruitment costs and costs are:
Marshal = 500 / 20
Client = 1000 / 20
Landlord = 1000 / 10
Spy = 2000 / 40
Cleric = 1500 / 30
Merchant = 1000 / 0
The AI clerics often convert the provinces
In the game, there will be famine and the plague for the player and the AI the events. These events have effects on the trade agreement.
The Marshal takes for an experience level now slightly longer and the combat units need to acquire of an experience star also longer.
Two new units were created:
Battlefield catapult and battlefield trebuchet and field trebuchets and field katapulte.

Rebels or sympathizers are in the strength of 720 / 600 / 480 / and 360 on man, with the 360 are the rule. 10 Army can stand up per Kingdom. Province of a maximum of 2. All farm units are replaced with better units. Combat so as soon as possible. After a sack, the army receives an experience Star (3% strength) and an elite unit. Rebels or sympathizers are struggling with increased morale.
Following provinces will use new winter battlefields:
In the far North:
Arkhangelsk, Karelia, Nyland, Finland, Norrland, Götaland, Trøndelag
In the Alpine region:
Bavaria, Hesse, Switzerland, Austria, Brandenburg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Istria
There are also per four river crossing Battlegrounds for the climate zones of normal, winter, desert, and palms.
The difficulty furthermore is divided as follows:
normal :from 1 up to 5. province (20 - 100% chance (per province 20%)) that massive is the AI against the players. The war setting is 20%.
hard : from 1 to 5. province (20 - 100% chance (per province 20%)) that massive is the AI against the players. The war setting is 30%.
heroic : from 1 up to 5. province (20 - 100% chance (per province 20%)) that massive is the AI against the players. The war setting is 40 %

Installation:
In der Downloaddatei sind folgende Ordner: defs , images, maps, movies und Texts.
In Programme findest du den Ordner Black Sea Studios. Öffne diesen Ordner und du findest den Knights of Honor Ordner. Öffne diesen Ordner und du findest die Ordner packs, system, binkw32.dll, Koh und die LiesMich- ( im englischen die readme-) Datei.
In dem offenen Knights of Honor Ordner ziehst oder kopierst du die Ordner vom Download. Fertig ist die Installation.
Willst du wieder ohne MOD spielen so ziehe die Ordner vom Download in den Mülleimer oder lösche sie einfach.
Wichtig: Willst du einen anderen MOD spielen ( BritanniaScenario, oder CrusaderScenario, Middle East Scenario) so musst du vorher den installierten MOD löschen.

Was kommt auf euch zu:
Im Zentrum eines Königreiches steht die Burg (Stadt) und wird von den Dörfern, Klöstern und Bauerhöfen versorgt. Jedes neues gebaute Gebäude kommt, wenn möglich, dem Umland zu gute. Die gegnerische Armee wird die Dörfer, Klöster und Bauerhöfe plündern und niederbrennen um die Burg zu schwächen. Die Burg (Stadt ) hat nur den Versorgungswert von 1 für Frömmigkeit, Nahrung, Arbeiter und Gold. Bücher werden in den Klöstern geschrieben. Der Baumeister und Grundherr wird in den Anfangsphasen eines Königreiches lebenswichtig. Auch der Gegner wird den Baumeister und Grundherrn einstellen. Der Gegner wird maximal nur zwei Kaufmänner erwerben. Kaufmänner sind für den Gegner nicht so wichtig wie für den Spieler, denn des Gegners Einnahmen sind anderer Art. Die Prinzen gehen keiner Berufung mehr nach und nur dem König steht eine Ausübung eines Berufes an. Er kann aber nicht mehr den Beruf wechseln.
Gefangene können nicht mehr ohne Lösegeld freigelassen werden.
Die Steuern können erhoben werden, dennoch ist es sinnvoll erstmal diese Steuern ausser acht zu lassen. Im späterem Spielverlauf werden die Steuern und Kaufmänner weniger wichtig, denn die Haupteinnahmen werden die Stadttribute sein. Der Spieler wird bis zur Eroberung der fünften Burg einigermassen in der Spielschwierigkeit Normal unbeschadet das Spiel geniessen können.
In den Schwierigkeitsstufen Schwer und Legendär liegen die Vorteile auf Seiten des Gegners und es ist recht schwer Frieden ( oder andere Abkommen ) zu schliessen.
Offene Feldschlachten 1 v 1 werdet ihr oft verlieren oder mit hohen Verlusten gewinnen. Städte ohne einen Marschall sind oft Schutzlos gegen gegnerische Armeen.
Wer den Schwierigkeitsgrad des Spieles weiter erhöhen möchte, stelle in den Anfangseinstellungen des Spieles Pause während der Schlachten auf aus.
Die Importfolgekosten für exotische Waren wurden reduziert.
Durch den Erwerb der Königlichen Errungenschaft Seidenstrasse werden die Gewinne nicht mehr verdoppelt sondern nur um die Hälfte erhöht.
Katapulte auf der Mauer verschiessen nur noch 1 bis 3 Geschosse anstatt 3 bis 6. Ihre GeschossStreuung wurde erhöht.
GeschossStreuung der Eckturmgeschosse und Ballistenturmgeschosse wurde erhöht.
Zermürbungswerte leicht reduziert.
Die KI wird alle Verteidigungsanlagen einer Stadt bauen können. Es wird ein neues Gebäude geben: Das Konstrukteurhaus. Die Belagerungswaffen wurden in der Mindest-und Höchstreichweite modifiziert. Mit den Belagerungswaffen ist es nicht mehr möglich die KI auszuschalten bis zum letzten Mann. Es wurden die Texte verbessert und die Werte für die Aufreibung der Ecktürme, Ballistentürme, Katapulte und Teerkessel verringert.
Der Wassergraben wurde entfernt .
Die KI baut alle Gebäude. Kaufmannsgilden sind keine Seltenheit und die Moschee wird auch gebaut.
Die Einstellungskosten und Folgekosten sind :
Marschall = 500/20
Bauherr = 1000/20
Grundherr = 1000/10
Spion = 2000/40
Kleriker = 1500/30
Kaufmann = 1000/0
Die KI-Kleriker bekehren öfters die Provinzen
Im Spiel wird es die Ereignisse Hungersnot und die Pest für den Spieler und die KI geben. Diese Ereignisse haben Auswirkungen auf das Handelsabkommen.
Der Marschall braucht für eine Erfahrungstufe jetzt etwas länger und die Kampfeinheiten brauchen für den Erwerb eines Erfahrungssternes auch etwas länger.
Zwei neue Einheiten wurden geschaffen:
Schlachtfeldkatapult und Schlachtfeldtrebuchet und Feldtrebuchets und Feldkatapulte.
Schlachtfeldtrebuchets , Schlachtfeldkatapulte, Feldtrebuchets und Feldkatapulte können Mauern und Soldaten beschiessen.
Ballisten haben jetzt begrenzte Munition.
Die Anschaffungskosten der Belagerungsgeräte wurde gesenkt.
Rebellen und Loyalisten benutzen Leitermänner.
Im Söldnerlager sind Leitermänner erhältlich.
Rebellen oder Sympathisanten treten in der Stärke von 720/600/480/ und 360 Mann auf, wobei die 360 Mann die Regel sind. Pro Königreich können 10 Armee aufstehen. In einer Provinz maximal 2. Alle Bauerneinheiten werden durch bessere Einheiten ersetzt. Also schnellstmöglich bekämpfen. Nach einer Plünderung erhält die Armee einen Erfahrungsstern (3% Kampfstärke) und eine Eliteeinheit. Rebellen oder Sympathisanten kämpfen mit erhöhter Moral.
Folgende Provinzen werden neue winterliche Schlachtfelder nutzen:

Laudan what do i need to do,to just use the new battlegrounds cause i want to play a bit vanilla,yet still have these nice battlegrounds?Will just adding the "templetes" into maps/europe work?
Downloading the only maps and place the folder maps into the Knights of Honor folder.

Importantly:
The new battlegrounds are activated in the new play, after you save your game and then load the save game. After this the program use the new battlegrounds. You must make this everytime, if you start a new kingdom.

The new update 21.07.07 is out for the MOD HARD.
For this new update you cannot use your old save.
Change :
The AI builds all buildings.
Three merchant guilds are not rarity and the grand mosque are also built. For prisoners noble all gives it no more high ransom. Furthermore by gold gifts the relations is only slowly increased and the mercenaries is for fewer gold to be had, but always ever higher than normal.
The rebells can use laddermens.

Its a proplem of the browser. AOL user cannot download. Try it out with the IE-Explorer.

You have right, thx for the bug. I will change this at once.
I update the MOD HARD Invasion . Version 09.09.07 is out now.
Two things.
1. I have a lot of excess gold, makes it extremely easy to keep great relations and have no war. [In my current game no ai has declared war on me, playing on hard. I have declared war on 1 province minors, but mostly I'm spy annexing large kingdoms.]
2. Battlefield Catapult and Battlefield Trebuchet garrisoned in towns and used in sieges makes it insanely easy to defend or take towns.
Importantly: After you play your kingdom you must change first your tax to no tax!!!After you changing the tax to no tax you can change the tax if you will. You must make this everytime, if you start a new kingdom.
If you use the cheat bsswitch , so you must start your game with the last savingpoint, because the cheat bsswitch make the new taxpoint unable.
Two much gold you cannot have in the beginning.
In all my test the AI kingdom will declare war with you after you have five provinces.
There is a possiblity my installation isn't right. I had to copy the files then delete holy rome 1.8, then install your mod. I did change the tax money, you don't actually make that much money from tax anyway. The major money is from trading. I currently have 4 traders each making 200+ gold.
Hows looks with your current game? How many provinces you conquer already ?
Sure, your mercant can have 200 gold, but only with big kingdoms and your relations
to the other kingdom must be dark green.

Started off as the Seljuks at war with Nicea, luckily Nicea got eaten by other people quite quickly. I decided to make the game harder by only signing trade agreements/NAPs with muslim countries and then getting our relationship up to max. Half the most protiable kingdoms were muslim because of this.

While that seems plausible, the screenshot I posted in the Holy Rome thread was a province that I owned and had recently given away. No way they could have done the fight-retreat there 250 times in the short amount of time they owned the province.

Before you uses my Mod, your play must have the Patchversion 1.05.
Installation instruction:

You will see new siegeweapons. The old trebuchets/catapult i take out from the game. For this comes the battlefield trebuchet/catapult. With these new weapons can the AI fight agains the walls and the soldiers, same the player can do before.
In the upper picture you see the new (old i found in the program ) icons for the fieldtrebuchets/catapults. These weapons have only limited ammunition, but can throw 1 to 3 bolts agains the soldier, only soldiers.

After a long playing i see that the hits agains the soldier from the battlefield trebuchets in the mod are too low.
If you want that the battlefield trebuchets have more hits agains the soldier, so change the value self in the version 10.10.07.
Update MOD HARD Invasion Final 14.10.07 change the power of the battlefield trebuchet from 200 to 400.

First of all thank you for your great mod, its just what it should have been in Vanila version.
I think I found a problem though. When I start playing I do just as u say taxes to no taxes save game and load just saved game. I then play and lets say take a province. nostalgia level is of course is 10 at that moment and it takes 1650 books to remove it at that point.
Then it gradually falling untill 1000 books is enough to remove it at that province. Then if lets say I save the game and come to it later, nostalgia is never falling in those provinces which were taken before last save and those that were taken after, so I CAN"T play because clericks have maximum 1000 books and nostalgia in conquered provinces can be removed at 1650 books and never falls lower after last save.
ANyone else noticed that?

The last new update 24.11.07 for the MOD HARD Invasion is out now.
Now the AI build really more mercant guilds and the cathedral.
The rebels have a great moral: they fight with hearts.
Every battle is hard for you. The battle result is in the self leading battle or in the computer leading battle are same. I play now 15 hours with the kingdom Jerusalem ( english mod version 24.11.07), and win not too often. If i win a battle, so i have lose many mens. Thats terrible. I like this game. The AI win again my towns.
This version 24.11.07 is great. Never before i lose so many battles.
This update is also for BSS.
Last word to Frujin: I found not a way to give the trebuchets or catapults limited ammunition without the behavor of the archers.
The behavor of the trebuchets and catapults is now correct, but only without limited ammunition. What a pity. Perhaps we see trebuchets and catapults with limited ammunition in KOH2.

From my game with the Kingdom of Jerusalem i make many picture. All the picture you see in the first post of this thread.
I lost my game with the glory Kingdom of Jerusalem. With this mod i never win a game. Before i played with the kingdom Brandenburg, but i give up. The AI play very nice.
I play now further with Jerusalem, but all Kingdoms declare the war agains me and i havent any gold more..
i dont believe that i can win, but perhaps..who know...:)

Only two kingdoms fighting for europe: Jerusalen and Papacy.
I will win this game, in the moment i win two towns and the papacy win only one town.
But in this great game win the papacy two times with the big vote.
The papacy never split into several provinces and the papacy like the players kingdom to much, every another kingdom have surely attack you often and ask not to much for the white peace. I have luck that the last kingdom called papacy.:)

A big disaster happens with my Kingdom of Jerusalem. Our armies win battle of battle and the papacy lay down same a wounded animal.
My troops boring and all nobles forgot the last enemy papacy and think how can we build an own kingdom.
The rebellion risk in my provinces looks good.
My marshals wish and hopes that the papacy split into many provinces....

Thanks. All crashes in Middle East scenario comes from the knightsfile. The knightsfile is in the moment not perfect, but i work every day on this proplem. At the moment i play with five kingdoms to find out the the last cause for crashes. In the next version you will have not to much crashes more.
I have never see this event for my own kingdom so long i play with knights of honor.

Also the german, french, spain and italy can use the units crusader.

I downloaded this Mod. Its very good from what I have seen.
If I play on easy, will the AI build seige weapons?
Is the main difference between easy & hard the likelihood that the AI will immediately gang up on you from the start?
Or is there other considerable differecnes.

You need for the MOD HARD the Patch 1.05. Only with the Patch can the AI play with all siege weapons.
Easy till hard is the same difficulty, but the diffrence is only that in normal or hard the AI attack you earlier.

Thanks for the reply. So it takes quite some time for the AI to build up unique units?
I was playing for about 4 hours last night and did not see them bringing in any real advanced units or seige craft.
I was playing on easy. On hard I was attacked right away and wiped clean. :)

Or I have united realtions with them and still they don't agree with my marriage proposal or even a trade agreement. I even gave them land to sign trade agreement with a kingdom I want, and still they refused. What am I dong wrong?

I hope you play not on hard, on easy is the AI ok. In hard will the AI only destroy you. All agreement in hard are lies.

btw, the principle of taking provinces is the same as in HolyRome moddifications. Here it is just even harder :)
Today i place all Scenarios in this thread. For the MOD HARD InvasionEconomic 24.08.08 comes the new version 24.02.09 ( its the same version in Britannia ) so all user from Britannia or MOD HARD InvasionEconomic 24.02.09 can play together in Multiplayer.
The version 24.02.09 change the maps Masada, Arabic Harbor and brings the new map Arabic Harbor2 . You can use in the Multiplayer the siegeweapons ballista and catapult in a open battlefield. The user can now open the Units text/XLS to edit the values. You see, only small changes.

Campaign is not possible. You can play only on the europe map if you play 5 min. and send than your save to the next player. This possible play is only for 4 player . In the time, if you must wait for the save, the AI controll your kingdom or your kingdom wait with all action till you can play again. In this time your kingdom become gold and finished the order you give before the turn ending..

I have checked the install, base works fine, Middle East (elvain) works fine (but its one of the buggy versions, has problems with some boundaries), and I can load the save for that
Am I missing something, like moving any (and all) saves, characters out of the save folder
Any help or ideas wold be nice as I wanted to try out the Brittanic Mod

I cannot help you. I think you install all in the right step. First reinstall all mods. Your game need the patch 1.05 . Install the german or english version of the mod. ( german mod for the german version ;english mod for the english version of the game).
In the diplomacy folder i added some messages for the event famine and black death.
Before the AI can never cancel a trade agreement for [no reason]. Now the AI use these
place for the events famine and black death.
These are small changes and you can use the diplomacy folder for all my mods .
Place the file diplomacy from the zip folder in the mod Hard folder Texts.

I create this diplomacy file for the MOD HARD CrusaderScenario, BritanniaScenario and MiddleEastScenario. These mods havent any events. Also you can use this diplomacy file for your mod.
The MOD HARD InvasionEconomic have many events, so dont use the diplomacy file (you can do it, but in this time you have extra messages from the diplomacy file about Famine and Black death), or you delete the MOD HARD folder Quests in defs and in Texts.

I think it's a lot more fun to just stop at 15-20 provinces, build them up with the highest fortifications possible - especially the border-castles, and then make all of europe your vassal, or you can just terrorize all the kingdoms. Looting a whole empire to the last village is fun to do, by the time you are finished the first villages start popping up again and you can start over, while the enemy falls apart from rebellions etc.
You can create a wasteland around your kingdom as a buffer against invaders. JUst conquer all the neighbouring provinces, destroy all the buildings and leave them, the invaders will loose $ just trying to rebuild them.
If you're playing a catholic faction controlling the pope is great fun too. You can crusade the shit out of you neighbours, just hire a marshall and send him (be sure to send another mashall to assist him) on crusade, no need to loose an experienced warlord. Make sure if the targeted kingdom is catholic you excommunicate them and make everybody hate them first so the pope doesn't get upset.
You can have a lot more fun without steamrolling all of the map. Eliminating other factions trigger those events - plague, famine etc. Of course if they come up you can always right click on the message icons to throw it in the bin - who cares about the misery of the people when you have more important things to attend to like building inns, or chatting with other rulers.
Im trying to import exotic goods but i can`t figure out how ?I have a Admiralty build yet the goods are not imported ?

Here another picture. At the moment i set 104 kingdoms ( it seems you can only set 104 kingdoms ) and 132 realms. If i set 104 kingdoms so can have every kingdom only three realms. I have in my work so far over five hundred crash :bash: :mad: :rolleyes: (mostly if i setting realms incorrect), but i never give up. The game running without crash at the moment.
The kingdom Bohemia can have only three realms at the moment. I will see in future how much i must make cancel of my work. The technical site of the work is not finished yet.

Your information is wrong. Laudan is always right.
And yes, that's snow at the border of Hamburg. That's because in medieval times Hamburg used to maintain a defensive wall of snow. Even in summer. They imported snow from Finland. For proof, look at the picture. There's even a ship bringing more snow.

Hmm, very clever, but I wonder how they managed to pass the wall...because building gates out of snow is just ridiculous....did they use underground tunnels?? or maybe they had a catapult on both sides of the wall to throw people over it.
They used fire to melt it down, of course. That's why they needed to import more snow all the time (and it's also why they needed trees even in the Elbe). :p
Now its time to look at Holland. Really nice county. Around the county you will see big whale and the air smell like snow. 144 realms set already.
A question: Is the sea near Amsterdam really so big or its on my old map a wrong information. If it wrong so i want it change.

I don't really know, but because the sea there was bigger before they built all the dams, I think it's probably accurate.

as for Holland. I think I have some maps of old Netherlands at home, so I will be able to confirm if you have it right or not :)
btw, haven't you thought about the big disballance of provinces? Silesia (which is smaller than Bohemia proper) has 17 provinces, while Bohemia only 2?
It's weird to see a province which only has a castle and hardly a village and then, the next door, a province, which is larger than all its neighbouring provinces together.
Bohemia ( in the final ) becomes four provinces, same you show me on your link. The picture showes only three. Silesia is divided into several small "Fürstentum "and every County (" Fürstentum" = german name ) can create the big Silesia. All "Fürstentum" have only three realms. The advantages of the Kingdom of Bohemia is the many villages inside. I play already some matches and the Kingdom of Bohemia can stay agains the "Silesia realms".
But in the moment its nothing final.

PS: Egerland - the tiny province of imperial city of Eger south of Plauen - could deserve little more land from Bohemia. Part of the territorry was incorporated into Bohemia somewhen in 15/16th century.
At the moment i work on the political map. All realms are set, but i testing how much realms can i set. Here on the picture you see i played the testgame with 177 realms without crashes. For the scenario i need many realms.

I think i have enough colors for every provinces. I use the color palett from KOH.
Here two picture from the color testing . At the moment i set 182 realms. In the background you see poland. The color look strange because poland have three provinces, but i have not set the border in the political map.

Yes, you will see a german and english version. 98 kingdoms are playable with 190 realms. You will see 98 kindoms families ( historical correct) and the relations between these kingdoms.
This mod is my last and the best i will ever make. I like every moment to give more details this great scenario.
Sometimes i think , its better to sell this scenario for produce Knights of Honor again with this addon. I will look for a company who will sell Knights of Honor again with this scenario. I will soon contact BSS, if i think this scenario will be a great scenario.
At the moment its too soon for say anything. But you will see many new events.

All my mods becomes an update based on the last mod HolyRomanEmpire. You will find the new icons for the siegeweapons and the KI can build all fortresses. Now its time to go and play. I think , BSS will never release another KOH, so enjoy the mods. These mods will give the Knights of Honor a long breath for survive.

Indeed, again I wanted to play little bit of KoH because I'm more a casual player and this mod is awesome! Big thank you to Laudan!
I started with the diocese of Paderborn which has only one realm. From the beginning on I was at war with Hassia but I managed to build my army up to heavy swords- and bowmen.
After 2 hours of playtime I still not have conquered any other realm.
But the defending does not get boring^^

The Archbishop in Galicia is the place for the pope. You will see the crusaders. The size of the crusaders units are changed and the crusaders become the siegeweapon trebuchet.
By the way: Its too difficult too explain you : How can you make a map. This need a tutorial. I need many attempts to perfect my work. Its a lot of work.
Your work is amazing, Laudan. it's a pity that now few people still continue playing the game, but people like you and others, make the game stay alive. thanks for your work.

I think about 900 and 1000. The kingdom Leon will have the vassal Porto, Galicia and Asturias. The county Porto can create the kingdom of Portugal if Porto conquer Beira.
The Emirate of Cordoba will have many vasall in iberia. Your map shows also the border of the religion. Many historical kingdom families will you see. In one of the events comes the german invaders from north.
The scenario have 131 realms.

You have many expierence to create new symbols for the flags. My work in this part of work failed, so you can create the flaggs for this scenario. I know this is a lot of work. My attempt in this work are not so good, if the rebels or sympathisant create a new kingdom and the new flaggs changed into another colour so KOH crashed.
After finished the border for the kingdoms so i will send you the kingdoms list. There are over 100. A lot of work... If you want do it, so do it.:)
In the MOD HolyRomanEmpireScenario i tryed out to create new flaggs. But i make it wrong, so i give up this part of work. See picture from the mod HRE before release.

I set all kingdoms. Its pity to say that i can only set 101 Kingdoms. 115 kingdoms i create before for this WorldScenario. In the HolyRomanEmpire Scenario i set 98 kingdoms.
The political map can only show 101 kingdoms. On the Strategic map i played with 115 kingdoms , but if one kingdom have conquer more than 3 provinces so come the crash.
These numbers i can never changed, only Frujin can do this. :)

The limit for the kingdoms is exactly 99. Up 101 kingdoms change the colour from the political map. Over 102 the Knights of Honor crashed.

just a little nitpick. If it is meant as a modern scenario, you could rename Bohemia into Czech republic/ Czechia or if it is together with Slovakia, then Czechoslovakia :)

So I wanted to have some fun in KoH after years of not playing and opened it up as Aragon. Playing on the hardest difficulty, it took me no time at all go capture nearly all of Spain and begin a campaign in Greece being the number one ruler with every single province maxed out on buildings and some of the finest troops out there. My biggest complaint had always been the game being too easy, and even after years of not playing I still had my old tactical touch and was able to quickly dominate. So I decided to download the classic Mod Hard and see how long my nation could stand up.
Needless to say, in seconds all of my allies turned on me. Some of my generals rebelled. My people were all in a rage. Thousands upon thousands of soldiers came pouring into my realm in a matter of minutes. Soon one after another my provinces fell and I tried my hardest to defend them to no avail. I knew my only hope was to regroup at my capital which had the best walled defenses. It took them a total of fifteen minutes to give me the defeat screen, but not without a battle.
Having but two marshals left in my small province, I began my final stand. What I'd say to be about 17 - 19 enemy marshals charged wave by wave at my generals. Soon they had been so battered I took the fight to the castle. The garrison was a full starred unit of Heavy Crossbowmen, a general full of roman infantry, and half a general full of regular crossbowmen. Again wave after wave attacked the castle butchering my army, but they held strong. The ballistic towers and the cauldron were of good help, but it was no use. There were too many. Soon, I found myself recruiting huge armies of peasants. Two of my best marshals, two whom have been with me since the start of the Aragon empire, led these peasants against more hoards of enemies. But eventually I was running out of money and running out of wheat, and when it came down to my final group of peasants, town guards and marshals, they were no match for two more fully equipped marshals from Castalia and Brittany fighting together. I was defeated, shamed, broken. And the time this all took? Only fifteen minutes. Even if they had won that bout, there still were about 2 french armies, 3 Ahlmod armies an Italian army and an additional Brittan army. I had beaten out at least 10 - 11 marshals just in that one province alone using my two marshals and good tactics, but with such overwhelming odds, I have to say I had one of the funnest times in KoH losing. Thankyou for this cleverly and well made mod!

But I have 2 questions:
1. I would like to be able to torture and release prisoners as in the vanilla version. Those options are not available in Mod Hard Invasion. Could you tell me where I can modify this?
(I checked the "defs\Knights\menu.in2" file, but all the options are listed there, so I am not sure how to proceed)
2. I am not able to select my prince(s) to be employed in Royal Court. Could you guide me where is the file responsible for this?
I`d appreciate your assistance. Thank you in advance.

Answer to 1: open in my mod defs/Knights and delete menu
Answer to 2: open in my mod defs/Screens /PlayWnd and delete menu_royal_members
Notice: its better not delete menu and menu_royal_members, because without this you have two much advantages against the AI.
1: release of the prisoner without the gold push the relation of the AI too much in the green area. You can quickley ask for peace.
2: You can protect your second and third noble ( if a prince ) agains spy attack ( also the prince change after the dead of the king into a normal noble ).

Well, on a second thought, you are right - it is easier for me with having the option to release prisoners. I am going to get good relations with the other countries pretty easy. I am going to play without doing any changes for now. Or at least I am not going to delete the "menu" file for now. The game is more competitive this way. Thanks again for your answer, though.

It seems I cant control them, and I think it does not make sense because it does not make the game harder (very very little difference) and makes the engineer skill useless. why do I need to carry battlefield trebuchets if i can have field ones and wait a little more to finish the walls? :p

With the skill you can buy trebuchets or catapults, they will cause more damages at the walls.
If you want control your siegeweapons so open in my mod defs/Units/Military and open catapult field, catapult assault, trebuchet field and trebuchet assault.
In catapult field, catapult assault, trebuchet field and trebuchet assault look for nocommand = 1.
1 change into 0, so you can control these siege weapons.

Hey dude the mod hard invasion made my knights of honour the best strategy games of all years!! This is awesome and you are a great moder! Thank you for giving me the chance to enjoy the game so much. I play for 2 weeks now in heroic. I play only as Epir coz I'm Greek and the flag of Epir is correct! The cross and the colours. Anyway for 2 weeks now, I 've made 1.000 batlles and control the south east provences. Aboyt 25 of them. All I want to say is a big THANK YOU. I can't reply on foroum I don't know why, so I messaged you here. When I finish this mode, I will try the others.
And somethin' more. Is there any posibility to make this game online. Lets say the map plays and people who log in choose a nation, or if all nations are taken from other players begin as a rebel. This could be amazin, but no playin the batlles byyourself. If this happens some day I think it would be the best of all times. Thank you again dude for your great work
