resolution problem & patch advice

Hi,
I am a new player and currently have Version 1.03.
Two questions...

1. In-game screen res is set to 1024 x 768. When I quit the game it does not reset my desktop res, and so I have to do it manually. Very sloppy and annoying.
Is this a known issue and can it be fixed?

2. I have read some threads that indicate problems with the 1.05 patch.
Should I use it, or stick with 1.03?

Any feedback welcome.

1. I had not heard of this before.
2. The 1.05 patch brings so many great fixes and changes that the few flaws it introduces aren't really noteworthy in my opinion. In other words, I definitely recommend the 1.05 patch. The AI now recruits siege squads, difficulty is finally better.. see the information (http://forums.blackseastudios.com/showpost.php?p=52&postcount=1).

I decided to install the patch...and guess what? It also fixed the resolution glitch.
Can you point me to any good strategy guides.

Well I spoke too soon.
It resets the resolution...
and every other time it redistributes all the icons on my desktop.
I dont have this problem with any other game...and never had it before using this game.
This is a pain in the ass - I have to rearrange my desktop after playing!!
I wonder what treats lie in store for me in the game??

By the way can I get rid of the logo videos - especially the annoying blackseas one.

Logo videos: download the `no intro fix' from Elvain's site (http://www.rome.webz.cz/KoH_Holy_Rome_mod.htm). Or just wait a few seconds and then CTRL + click to skip a movie.

About the resolution problem: I had it before with other games. It is very annoying. You could try if it helps to set compatibility mode, administrator mode (for Vista) or perhaps your screen's color depth. Do you have the latest DirectX and graphics driver?

I just dropped the folder 'movies' form Elvain's 'no intro fix' into my KoH folder and it seems to have done the trick...it came without a readme so I hope that's all I have to do??

I found that sometimes after quitting my desktop is off-centre...sort-of displaced...to the left. However if i load another game and exit, then its OK. I have up to date video drivers and DirectX and so on.
Can you explain about colour depth...I have XP.
