View Full Version : The gas crisis?
Many news refer, that some European countries have serious problems due to closed Russian-Ikrainian gas issue and the following cut off supplies.
Here in Czechia it had no effect on families, it was only said that some firms may have limitted supplies, if the crisis would long be unsloved.
The worst situation was described in Bulgaria, how did the crisis influenced your lives?
Well, I haven't really felt it much, except that for a few days when I was at home the heating didn't work almost at all and it was pretty cold. Which "funnily" coincided with some pretty cold weather too (my moustaches froze yesterday when I was outside in -15 degrees, thank goodness I was at my village where we have other ways of heating).
Otherwise, most of its other effects would probably be more global - possible rise in the prices of some (or most) commodities and quite possibly some companies going bankrupt because they can't work without gas (I don't remember how many hundreds of millions of dollars were the "potential losses/unrealized profits" so far).
I read too that especially Bulgaria and Slovakia are in trouble from the halt on gas pumping through Ukraine. Yet the effect appears to me less severe than the media would like me to believe. However, I think it is a clear signal that Russian gas is not too reliable. By now the case should have been solved, but Ukraine points to Russia, that they pump the gas in the wrong pipe, whereas Russia says, we are pumping the gas, the problem is with Ukraine. Europe should really be investing in the renewable energies like they promised to do before 2020.

I didnt read the article but I know that a lot of gas stations are without gas right now. I found that sunocco has gas and its the only one open in my area right now. I made sure to fill up all three vehicles and a couple of gas cans while I was at it.
