Hello.

Lately reading the KoH forum I got inspired and now I'd like to present the idea for discussion. This is not a specific proposal, but more of a general thought that needs refinement. So please feel encouraged to give it a thought and present your constructive comments.

The concept is loosely based on the last bard story in the tavern. There each story telling member represented a character that strived for fame and wealth with his own methods, usually intersecting the storylines of other bards.
My idea extends this to directly make use of KoH. Let's imagin an example:
Player A starts a KoH game as the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. He starts a topic on the forum similar to a AAR (After Action Report) and stops his introduction where he mentions that he looks to recruit new knights.
Other users on the forum, B and C, respond to the thread and apply their fictional characters for specific positions in the royal court of the HRE. The Emperor may or may not accept them directly. They may discuss e.g. the transfer of a fiefdom to the applying knight. If the Emperor accepts the player, he creates a Knight within KoH which from now on represents the player on the forum.
Based on this the users A, B and C can now interact, keeping in mind the situation within the KoH game. Player B, who has been given the fiefdom of Bavaria, may now govern his province as he wishes and e.g. issue the construction of fortifications, after he discussed the possibilities of funding with the emperor. If successful the Emperor of the HRE implements the discussed changes in the KoH game (e.g. he builds a town wall in Bavaria).
In the further development of the game the Knights can state demands as e.g. specific dimplomatic stances (Player B: "Bohemia must be integrated into the HRE") or carry out the Emperor's orders (Emperor: "Player B, as a strong supporter of the claim over Bohemia we deem you in charge of the military campaign against Bohemia." upon which Player B starts raising funds for an army and leads it against Bohemia). All the while the Emperor implements the results of the discussion on the forum into the KoH game and posts AAR-like summaries of what happens around and within the HRE.

That's the basic concept. I didn't yet get around thinking about the technicalities, as e.g. which part of the raised taxes is considered property of the Emperor and which part is considered property of the owners of the fiefdoms. Though that's propably up to discussion between the ingame characters.
This is where I'd like your feedback. Was my explanation specific enough to make some sort of sense or did I leave you wondering what exactly I want to do? Do you have any feedback on specific parts as to how some aspect could be realized? Do you have interest in starting such a game as a test?
Feel free to post you opinion.

Thanks for reading.

Sounds fun. So basically players will be exchanging save files?

I've got an idea too. Wouldn't it be more interesting if the players will be rulers of small vassal states of the HRE, having more controll over the provinces, but still loyal to the emperor, paying tribute, going to war on behalf of the empire, and asking for help when in trouble.

Actually, in my concept I let the Emperor (or King) carry out all changes to the KoH game as concluded on the forum. That way only one savegame is used, which makes things easier to handle. That's also why there should be no vasall kingdoms. Otherwise it will be required to switch between kingdoms all the time.
Though I'm always up for different ideas.
