The Royal Family As of Yet:

King Louis III paced his throne room. His Scouts had recently reported Burgundy's drop in power. Many Vassals would be claiming independance soon so it would be a tough world. As Louis Paced his Advisor came in with some intresting advice
Advisor: Holland is a vassal. They hold one city we should build up the necessities for an Army and march on Holland.
Louis III: And what of the Country they are Vassal to. We cannot risk war on a large scale.
Advisor: Well. Let us cross that bridge when we reach it, for now let us build up our Stocks.
The Advisor on Louis orders had a Granary built so any army won't march hungry
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh3.jpg
It took a while but the Granary was completed effectively. Food was stored well. There was also a boost in food production. Next came the Tool Smithy so we could build faster with better tools and labourers
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh4.jpg
After the tool smithy was built Louis was pondering what to build next to assisst his Army creation when a scout ran in with the latest news
Scout: A Lot has been happening Sire, Germany seems to be hated by many around it. Theres been a huge war declared on Germany
Louis III: This is indeed... Troubling. If Germany is taken down then nothing will shield us from the Barbarians to the East
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh5.jpg
Louis then realised there was a bigger threat. On his doorstep, the surveys he had sent out returned and they stated one thing, His population were not happy
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh6.jpg
Steps to Overcoming Disloyalty
Once the Tool Smithy was built Population happiness was at an all time low. They needed some form of Rest and Relaxation. Louis has seen a happy population when he went to visit germany and got a few tips off of a Governor. The Trick was Inn's build Inns and pubs and things that keep people occupied when they're bored. Louis immediately ordered an Inn Be Built. This would keep the population happier than he'd seen them
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh7.jpg
The Inn Worked a treat. The Surveys came back once again showing that his people were much happier. he could now focus more on the building of an army
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh8.jpg
The Disloyalty was solved but there was still a major problem. Money. Not enough Money was being generated to fund anything. Louis had a plan though. He sent out Messengers first to Tuscany they accepted without much hassal.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh9.jpg
Then to Dobrudzha. Who demanded a royal wedding between Louis daughter and one of their Princes. Louis had no choice but to accept. His Kingdom needed the cash and the Horses that came with it too. brittany had also offered a Trade Agreement

Louis was in his Throne Room one day when his Scout walked in calmly giving him an overview of whats happened in the past two weeks. Many kings were slain in Battle along with two countries being wiped out completely. The Superpowers were becoming known in Europe
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh11.jpg
Louis had now secured his Population and funds when a messenger burst in
Messenger: King Louis I have urgent news.
Louis III: Speak Messenger
Messenger: Our Neighbour Holland has Declared Independance from Burgundy and started a War against them!
Louis III: Hmm... This could be perfect for some negotiating. Either one will pay us to declare war on the other... This could be a very profitable war

The War On Holland
Louis had deliberated for many hours. His Queen was becoming restless to. Burgundy was a powerful opponent but they had to move their army through many countries to reach Flandres. But then Flandres would have an ally to fight against Burgundy. Things in the Royal Court were heated as well. Eventually the King was persuaded to go to War with Holland. And Thus War Began.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh165.jpg
A Young Marshal called Loys was recruited to Lead an Army of Peasant Militia Into Holland for a Raid. Spirits were high as well as food stocks and men counts.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh16.jpg
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh17.jpg
Loys crossed into Holland aiming for a small but particularly rich Village. He had to march close to the city which was a worry because Spies had reported Holland had an Impressive Military. Loys worries were confirmed when he was ambushed by the Enemy close to the City.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh18.jpg
The Enemy army was full of Well-Trained Sword Fighters and the Enemy Marshal was far more experianced than Loys. This was a losing battle from the start
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh19.jpg
Loys: Men. I ask not that you win decisively or Lose Badly. I simply ask that you stand in the Face of the Enemy. And try your hardest. Do not Falter Men! As We Charge!!!
The Battle didn't last Long. The Enemy Marshal easily saw through loys plan of sneaking round to attack him from behind and kept men in front of him at all times. Eventually Loys just went for an all out attack.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh20.jpg
It ended with a deadly result
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh21.jpg
Louis was getting frustrated at his losses. He needed more experianced troops and commissioned a Training Grounds.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh22.jpg
As he was overseeing it a Messenger rushed in with a makeshift bandage on his arm
Messenger: My King. I have just escaped with my life. Its over for us. Germany has declared War on us
Louis: What?!? This is getting worse by the minute. I want this training ground ready for use Tomorrow. I feel its going to be heavily relied upon.

As Louis walked back to his throne room a well-dressed man on a Horse approached. In the Colors of the King Edward of England. His Standard flying behind him as well.. He gave Louis a Letter and exited the scene.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh24.jpg
Louis broke down on the spot and had to be escorted away by Guards. Things were now really messed up.
The Death of a King
Louis got worse over the next few days. His Health was degrading rapidly. He still had no sons to be his heir either. The News that an Army of Holland was marching on the city came with no great shock to Louis as he prepared for battle. Against his Wife's will
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh25.jpg
Louis gathered all the Men he could including another Young Marshal. THey Barricaded themselves in the Castle and waited for the impending Siege.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh26.jpg
After Many Hours of Waiting Guillot ( The Young Marshal ) decided it was time to strike. Food was low as well as Morale. He roared a Morale Boosting Roar and led the Army to the Gates where most of the Enemy was Waiting.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh27.jpg
It was there he turned the Tide of the Battle. With a deafening Battle Cry he charged forth out of the gate. Ripping straight through the enemy
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh28.jpg
Even when surrounded he fought like a True Warrior. Nobody could stop him. Things were starting to look up. He Eventually had all of the Enemy Soldiers destroyed and he heard the Enemy Marshal approach. The Enemy Marshal was the same one who killed Loys. Guillot rallied his men and charged. They Sustained heavy losses. But he eventually brought him down
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh29.jpg
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k202/bendaman_2006/koh30.jpg
The Battle had cost more than Troops and money though.. By the end of it the Battlefield was strewn with bodies. One of the Bodies being King Louis III. Count Of Flandres. The People had Guillot become King after his Heroic Display in the Battle. But he had many problems to face

I apologize that I was so unclear. Offcourse that Flandres are predominantly Flemish (and so they were in middle ages). But the nobility was French and it was part of France.
sorry to be offtopic.
keep the AAR going please
