Are you serious this time? Many of us still remember the promise that you made for Knights of Honor, but a few years later there is still no bg version of the game, and not only that, but we can't buy even the english version in Bulgaria! I hope this time you will make us happy :p

The sad truth, meriadoc, is - we (Bulgarians) don't used to buy games legally.:o I refuse to discuss further this condition. I will understand if BSS change their mind NOT to release in BG.
I'll be very happy if I have opportunity to BUY this game.

jediguardian
3 Oct 2007, 23:39
I will buy both the english and bulgarian version if they are available in Bulgaria. And why should BSS lie to us? They made an official announcement.

meriadoc
4 Oct 2007, 00:09
I know what the truth is, sad or inevitable, but that is not an excuse for BSS to restrict our desires of buying the game. It is ridiculous to beg someone to sell you something what he produces to sell. Not to mention how stupid i feel writing in english to fellow countrymen :D Isn't it a shame that all of us were forced to play a pirated game?

tenax
4 Oct 2007, 02:03
Hey, hey! That was my opinion, I'm just explaining to myself if BSS decide to cut the production in our country. Lets hope this won't happen.
PS: I feel stupid too, but that's the rules. // stick to english please! With love, Admins //

Sunflowers!

meriadoc
5 Oct 2007, 20:39
What about them? Yes, really, explain to us what happened to the game, even if it is some sort of secret, we are not going to tell anyone :)

IWM
6 Oct 2007, 09:05
They (SF) don't want to release KoH in Bulgaria!
Blame their high rangking officials!

NikeBG
6 Oct 2007, 14:51
Well, let's just say Sunflowers won't be remembered with a good publicity and distribution campaign for KoH (which is also the reason why the distributor for North America became Paradox after SF failed to distribute it there at all). Or in other words - on today's game market, a publisher is at least as important as a developer (i.e. a lousy publisher can ruin even the greatest game)...

Dude, how about writing in English? I'd also prefer to write in BG, but as jediguardian said, this forum is international, so we have to write in English.

Well, that's not 100% accurate translation, but you get the picture :P

P.S.: Sorry for the Bulgarian Frujin :P

Sorry but i don't get all this "stick to the english" thing!Over fifty percent of this forum's posts were not made by Bulgarian users. Therefore it's untrue that most of the active people here are Bulgarian. Not to mention the fact that this is an international game..

Sorry for my sentence formation, but if only I could write on bulgarian things would be so much better! But then again I MUST stick with the english for the good of I don't know who:mad: !
What about the bulgarians who don't understand this language:cry: ? Or you(elvain, jediguardian, Doux, phpBG and others) don't care becouse you know it and that means that everyone must understand it:evil: !!!Am I right;) ?
I hope I didn't offend someone.

P.S. I apologize to the moderator/s for the offtopic I have made last few days:rolleyes:

You see, there's ony "tiny" problem: It's not only about the will for a real international forum (because, sorry, but whatever you say, people, "English-only" isn't internation at all, it's just "globalistic"), but also about the availability of people, who can moderate (plus, of course, enough users to write) on that language. And seeing how this forum doesn't even support technical issues (look at Phil's thread in the technical forum for examples) and only Frujin is posting from time to time, I'm pretty sure BSS doesn't really have much time to moderate even on English, what's left about a separate Bulgarian section. Of course, there is an option to have moderators, who don't work for BSS, but I guess selecting such people requires time, which BSS doesn't have with all these constant milestones etc...

tenax
1 Nov 2007, 17:12
Wow, take it easy! You are very ungrateful people. Because we get updates once a month we start to bark like angry dogs. Thats not the way to support each other, THE Game and BSS. Now I understood the meaning of the words: Balkan Mentality. Just stop writing pointless posts and open fan-made forum for BG users. Is it so difficult? Is It?

Managing 2 boards at once? BSS will have no time

2 Nov 2007, 10:44
What about that picture: A bulgarian who knows only his language hear the news that a BG game is coming and enter the BSS site/forum, but all the information that can be seen is english!
The question here is: What should he do?
a>He close the the explorer and forget about the game!
b>He try to find a BG version of the site/BG section of the forum, but he fail to find any and tell everyone he knows that " There is no such game! "!
c>He attempt to translate as much as he can just to understand what is this game about. But that takes some much time that he start swearing around and claim that "That game suX alot"

And you can't be angry about that just becouse he don't know english!
There are so many BG gamers that don't know eng.!

Again, sorry about the offtipic but I think this is some important thing to discuss

phpBG
2 Nov 2007, 12:14
Plaese!
Have you ever heard of a gamer, who can't handle a game in English (especially if he's Bulgarian)...
If he doesn't know English very well, at least he could understand the part, that concerns the game (maybe not all the offtopics, but the important stuff...)

Again, sorry about the offtipic ...
Ah, don't worry about that...
If it wasn't for that offtopic, the forum would have been dead 'till the next update.
Which brings me to my next point :
If we get about 3 posts a week (excluding those about a BG forum), and that's in 1 forum, how many posts will we have, with 2 forums? (here's a little math problem for those who can calculate :P )
A month ago, while we were waiting for an update, we had about that many posts...
And they were mainly "When is the update comming???" or stuff like that...

So, calculate that, and post again...

Oh, that's easy one. 3/7=0.42857 posts per day in one forum.
0.42857/2=0.212935 posts per day in BG forum. This mean 1 post every fifth day. Wooow, if my calculations are correct, I suggest to post threads in "168 h*urs"(which is my favorite week journal). I'll take expenses on posting threads. Just get real!!! Thats NOT gonna happen ever!

NikeBG
2 Nov 2007, 15:30
Well, from a Bulgarian point of view, embrionix is right - BSS already suffered a huge ammount of swearing for: A) No Bulgarian version of KoH, as was expected (including by me (the expecting, not the swearing)), B) no Bulgarian feedback (read as "site, forum etc.") especially in contrast to the other bigger Bulgarian studio - Haemimont Games, which has a forum with both English and Bulgarian and always (well, I'm not sure only for Glory of the Roman Empire) releases its games also on Bulgarian and is thus more "user-friendly" both to its home public and the international one. And as far as I see, HG's forums are still quite more active, eventhough there are many fan-sites on Spanish, Polish and what-not, which could divert some users...

But, I repeat, if we want BSS to spend more energy on this forum, that would mean we want them to divert some of their resources from what they do - making great games, only to "ease" some parts of the community. And don't forget that releasing a better game would be better for the whole community, both Bulgarians and non-Bulgarians! ;)

P.S. If non-activity on this forum is troubling anybody, you know how to help fix it - just spread the word! ;)

embrioniX
2 Nov 2007, 16:04
Is there any misunderstanding here? I'm not talking about a full BG forum! I just want someone to attach a bulgarian thread or something like that, just that! It's not much, I think!

phpBG
3 Nov 2007, 18:22
Haha, well, your calculations seem about right... :go:
Didn't catch the 168 hours idea...
But with 1 post a week, I don't think it's worth it... :/
And what's not gonna happen?

Well, actually...
Never heard of Haemimont Games

embrioniX, just think about this whole thing this way : it's not up to us. That's a decision BSS have to make.

NikeBG
3 Nov 2007, 22:58
You haven't heard of Haemimont Games, the first Bulgarian game-development studio, the creators of the magnificient "Tzar: The burden of the crown" and thus, I guess, the former studio of Frujin?! Well, I suggest you check them out, while we're waiting for Worldshift to be released (and thus some free time to be released to BSS too)! ;)

IWM
4 Nov 2007, 12:09
I had Nemesis of the Roman Empire (which is developed by HG) . But I found that HG forum has been deactivated? Anyway It's good, for 2003 games. And I never played Tzar. Which is very dissapointing for me for not see the great RTS (In 2001 i'm still only read comic):D

elvain
4 Nov 2007, 12:23
how can you expect any frequent posting on a forum with 2 games where 1 is some 3 years old and the other is being developed?

btw, there are many German, French, Indonesian or other gamers whose skills in English are the same like of the Bulgarians you mentioned. And I understand it that for BSS it's not worth making a Bulgarian forum or forums section just because they - in my opinion - prefere to be an international company. It may discourage some localists, but - on the contrary - may attract many more people from many more nations who don't feel unprivilegued

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, BSS! ;)

NikeBG

English doesn't mean "international" - it means "global". An international site/forum/company is a multilingual one... ;)

phpBG
5 Nov 2007, 14:38
Well, anyway, "Bulgarian" is even further from "international" :p
And "global" is good, right? ;)

elvain

easyyou can easily expect it, but it's harder to actually have it :D

No, they want to be Czeh republic's company :D :D :D ;) :D do they? did I miss Frujin saying something like that? if yes, let me know and I'll do my best to find them a good place for offices in some small czech town :D

but even if they would move here I would prefere them to move to Prague and thus be rather an international company, no matter if you like the word or prefere them to be "global"

NikeBG
5 Nov 2007, 15:56

Only Bulgarian - yes, bad idea! But Bulgarian, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian - now that's what I call international indeed (though could still be much more)! Alas, even only any three of those languages are rather hard to be moderated by a medium big moderation team, what's left about more...

phpBG
5 Nov 2007, 18:31
Well, I think they should make a German section next...
Having in mind that after English, German is the most commonly used language.
And maybe a BG section :P
But for that, we have to have a bigger fan community. Spread the word if you can, and after some advertising from BSS, well get more users here.
Maybe eventually there will be enough for a second forum...
But it's too early now.

German seems quite reasonable to me, just like in the old forum. And we already have native German-speaking members, who can be taken as moderators for a German section.
Btw, who has ever said about a second forum? That's pretty much useless! We want sub-sections on THIS forum, not another separate forum!

And, embrionix, please, mind your language!

For those that don't believe me I must say that I often use synthetic drugs (don't judge me please)

About the german. Yeah I like all this " Ya, Vundabaa, Shpritcee..." and other shits like that, but it willbe braincolapsing for me to swich from eng to ger and back:bash: (not that I know ger:p )

I just now saw NikeBG post! WTF man, this is reality! When you go outside do you hear only sweet candylike words sound around you or things like the bul versions of "WTF FFS STFU OMFG..." PLEASE enlighten me, PLEASE!!!

Why, oh why?! I am so short of spare time, and yet some people are torturing me to read that much nonsence?

@embrioniX: Please, do not make me ashamed because of you! Mind your language if you want to have some respectable position in these forums!

About other laguages: there are not going to be any other languages for this forum anytime soon! That's it! Period! If you want to use other language than English, then just create a forum on your own, and set whatever rules you like. It really takes some minutes!

With the above said, I consider this topic closed.
