this shows the sort of anti-English things that go on in the United kingdom.
As you can see im a pro-English patriot/nationalist.
huh, so the government scared if the province are rebeled?
Be cause that is what i am get from the video.
Ya, this is not laughing matter.
this is simply what happens to imperfect federations: we had the same problem: we had federal Czecho-Slovakian and Slovakian parliament, but no Czech parliament, the money flew much more to Slovakia, but still Slovakia have chosen independence as it felt opressed "czech colony" as some of the SLovaks said (though they weren't the majority) - paradoxly this happened in the same time when Huntington's article/book was published - in the time when the West was looking for it's new identities
just to the original article and so called Clash of Civilizations, to explain why I think the author misunderstood Huntington's theory (sorry that this gets -again- little too political, so I promise this is my first and last piece on this topic):
do you really know when and why it was published? and by who?
proffesor Samuel Huntington is a political scientist and this his study was meant to explain "post-Cold war" world.
Muslims from all over world perhaps understand it in the context of First (sometimes called also second after Iraqi-Iranian) Gulf war in 1991, but it was much more meant to explain what is happening in former Yugoslavia, where the breakup of Cold-War system caused breakup of Yugoslavia, which lied on borders of 2 Huntington's "civilizations" with numerous muslim element in Bosnia and Serbian autonomous region of Kosovo.
The main question was: "why the war came back to Europe?", not "who is to be our next bi-polar enemy", eventhough most of people - stuck to the bi-polar system of thinking - took his study as answer to their question which was the second here (who to be the next enemy)
he pointed out many rather interesting and important facts, but thanks to his very vague formulations (f.i. his term of civilizations can only be applied to 3 - those involved in Bosnian conflict, sic!) he was largely misunderstood and this his book became an example of so called "Thomas theorem": "If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences."
Huntington created theory of chaotic and desintegrated world of Islam and some of US politicians and many western media used it for their bi-polar understanding of world (which would much better fit to US-Chinese issue) - simply just because the muslim world - as Huntington states - has no real head or leader to negotiate with.
The most visible fruit of Huntington's theory is not islamistic (don't confuse with islamic!) fundamentalism or better terrorism, but re-islamization of Turkey which started to be treated as muslim country rather than secular and the society now voices up it's muslim identity again (with full legitimacy and - for many people as a paradox - voicing it up against non-democratic tendencies of turkish army.
Both sides of the "conflict" lack understanding the other and they don't know how to treat each other. Journalists and some politicians who misunderstood Huntington gave it "nice shapes of hostility"
the more dangerous it is that this is stated by indonesian minister. If he really thinks so, it means there really starts to be the clash. But I have to agree that there are numerous numerous inside both of the "civilizations", and that both - paradoxly - are matter of searching for a new fully-valuable and fully-satysfiable identity in globalizing world...
anyone comment in the Blog?
Just comment. :go:

In the western world there are really no more rebellions, that was over 100 years ago, the United Kingdom has been strong since it's creation, why would say Scotland rebel at this time? There are really no rebellions that occurs in this modern time...
It isn't a rebellion either, it's called the Barnett formula...
and btw, why should the Scots rebel when they are in fact privilegued :D the complaints go from England which is the leader of the UK.
And btw, except former separatisms in Basque Spain ,Northern Ireland and post-Yugoslavian region there is no real separatism in Europe in last 50 years. And except Yugoslavian wars nothing could be compared to separatism that was/is in Aceh or East Timor (just to mention the 2 separatist regions I know in Indonesia). Most of so called separatists in Europe is - in the society, including the particular regions - are understood as some kind of joke.
Even the Slovaks, nor post-soviet nations would hardly ever fight for independence: breakup of teh Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia wasn't caused by separatists but by political decisions. F.i. if the "divorce makers" of Czechoslovakia would have division of Czechoslovakia in their programe in 1992 elections, they would most probably lose :D
Plus Maluku,

The United kingdom is at its weakest with some political parties campaiging for an independent England and Scotland.
England may have the biggest population within the united kingdom but we are now the leading nation anymore, because the goverment is over represented with scots, who only want whats best for scotland (for example the barnett forumal and the west lothian question) therefor its at the disadvantage of the English who are giving out and are not getting anything back. Scotland has a parliament to represent them, Wales and Northen ireland have an assembly to represent them but the English are not allowed either for this will most probably break up the Union, so the english cant have a voice.
Scotland and Wales have there own national anthem but England doesnt, we have to play the United kingdom's national anthem. Our flag isnt allowed to be flown as it may insult other (foreign) people in England, but Scotland is alowed.
I am now an anti-Unionist, the English are being taken for fools, i think we need our own parliament AND independence. Sorry for spelling mistakes and for babbling on about things that are'nt important to you ,but thanks for reading. :)
Plus Maluku,
the RMS (Republik Maluku Selatan) is make headache on our people
I clearly said western world and Elvain said Europe, as their are lots of rebellions and internal seperatist movements in the developing world.
you're welcome
