(I'm sorry that the first post will now be for some time little outdated and as soon as it will be possible I will update it, but now I think it's more important to save at least this)
------

I think this thread could be useful for those who consider using a mod, but don't know which to use.

NB. Before you use comunity mods, INSTALL THE 1.03 PATCH. It is used as base for all other modifications and some of you may be satisfied with it so you don't need to use unofficial mods of Knight of Honor.
This is not for those who have the american version, where patch 1.03 is already installed!
See: http://sunflowers.de/english/support/dlkohpatch.php

Here everyone can find links to all mods available on our forums. Those mods will be also described here, either by me or by modders themselves (I prefer the second).

Aesenius KoH mod (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=3767)
author: Aesenius

Fun Mod (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=5167)
Author: Xuca
Description:
Fun mod is a mod for Knights of Honor. It's purpose is to change the game in a fun way. Most of the time I was trying to make the AI a better opponent,
which I successeded to some point. He now builds fortifications and recruits better armies. I also made some other gameplay changes in a way I like them. I hope you'll like them, too ;)
Some of the changes were inspired by the GoG and HR mods, for wich I thank Angryminer and Elvain.
I hope it will be fun for you as much as it was fun for me making and testing it.

Glory of God, version 1.5 (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=4312)/version 1.6 (http://vg-guild.com/koh/)
author: Angryminer
description:
While creating Glory of God I thought I'd like to get a more medieval feeling into the game. I thought the armies were a bit too small, I thought I had too much money, I thought I had too many armies, I thought rebels were too easy to beat, I thought the other kings were way too aggressive towards each other, etc. So I changed various aspects of the game to fit a more medieval athmosphere - at least in my opinion.
I also noticed, that the AI sometimes does quite stupid things. So I adjusted the AI behaviour to make the game a bit harder while keeping the original idea I had of my mod.
But "Glory of God" doesn't promise to be harder, or to be more realistic. It is just the way [u]I like to play KoH. That's also why GoG includes many of Elvain's modifications, because I like playing KoH with them. I published Glory of God because I want to give you the possibility to share this gaming-experience, no matter wether you like it or not. I don't force you to play it.

Holy Rome 1.6 (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=6337)
author: Elvain
description:
The mod is furthest version of my modding attempts and testing, though it is still imperfect. The goal of the mod is to improve historical accurancy and gameplay. This version improves the AI behaviour so it is more economicaly wise, builds up stronger units and uses much more espionage than ever before. The final effect is that it is harder to fight AI armies on the battlefield as it uses better units.
- It contains 7 new units(assassins, byzantian spearmen, bu

That's a good point. I will post my information here then.

I changed the game a bit by creating some new kingdoms to make it more historical.

Unfortunately, Sunflower Forums is 404'ed, all those links are faulty :( Or maybe i'm having bad luck?

@Frankoman:
Yes, the links don't work because they refer to the shut down Sunflowers forum. Some of these mods are rather old though. For example my mod, Glory of God, isn't compatible with the current KoH version.
@Atmosphere:
Usually mods are delivered in .zip archives. If you extract them to the main Knights of Honor-folder (english standard is C:\Program Files\Knights of Honor or something along those lines) the mod is installed. Usually there is a readme.txt file in the .ziparchive that contains further information.
Mods are uninstalled by removing the mod-files you extracted to the KoH-folder. The readme-file of most mods lists the folders you need to remove.

I think it was 1.03, but you could always try. I'm 90% sure it will work, though there could be minor or major glitches. I played 1.03 mods on 1.0 before getting the patch and it worked.

However I have no clue what happens when you do that. The GoG files don't define a couple of values KoH 1.05 expects. So if your computer screams in agone and jumps out of the window I'm not responsible. ;)
For your convenience I uploaded the mod here (http://www.MegaShare.com/262779) temporarily at a free-hoster. The link will go down after a while I'm sure, but for the time being it should be alright. Instructions: Click the link, choose 'Free' in the lower right corner, wait 10 seconds and click on the download button.

Hey elvain: alot if not all the mods had links to the sunflower forums... black sea studios came out top player and thus direct owner of KoH. sunflowers faded into memory... I wanted to take a look at that baltic mod before I download it.

Hi, I'm New here.

I just recently purchased KoH, after playin the demo for a while. I'm not really a big fan of Total War formation type games. I'm more of a CIV type player. But, I was really Impressed by KoH, its very enjoyable. :go: Anyways, I got the Baltic modification, GoG, HARD MOD & the HR Mod, is there anyway to download the other mods listed on the last page. Specific Links would be helpful.

P.S. IS there any way to play the MP mods w/o going online?
Is there a Hotseat Mod/Conversion/Utility to play them?
Could they be hacked into the quick battle menu?
Would I have to mod them to singleplayer and add AI's if it isn't possible?
Any Mod Mangers for KoH?

ADDED: Whats the COM Line for the Editor?

Emm, the only one who still try to make a MP europe map is Laudan (Creator of Mod Hard, both INVASION and ECONOMIC). Elvain (Holy Rome mod) seemed to have given up (need clarification) .

And there is no hot seat mode (if there are one, I'll play against my cousin all-time).

And there is this Religion Mod from Cnaeus. After I played with it 2 times, I had to say it had some interesting ideas, and nice new buildings.
this is where I get it from: http://www.kohmod.fw.hu/

I know that elvain "retired" from modding so I have to add it myself :

Invasio Barbarorum v.1.8 - Roman Timeframe Mod (http://forums.blackseastudios.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9)

The modification 'Invasio Barbarorum' takes you back to late antiquity. It is designed to represent the fascinating periode from 500-700 AD with it's great conflicts. It's a time of struggle for the Roman Empire. Will it be destroyed ? Or do you change history and defeat the evil barbarians for the glory of Rome ? History is yours for the taking !

Features

- realms and borders have been changed to represent the 5-7. century AD

- new city icons have been made to represent roman/barbarian cities

- ca. 250 new building icons have been made

- ca. 2500 names have been added

- new music has been added

- many new graphics

- rebalancing in many aspects (using the AI economic invasion hard script)

- new victory conditions for each faction

- new portraits for all cultures

- new unit icons for every unit

- new intro video

Too bad it hasn't been picked up, it seems interesting enough (though there are some mistakes on the map, like Avars in 850 (actually destroyed in 805)).

I've actually started working on the mod, but later lost interest. The factions are on the map (not like on the map provided here, but very similar), with proper cultures, religion, banners. I barely touched the units (only made a few), and made several quests. No work whatsoever on faction descriptions, royal families. Buildings are the same, but the economy is changed - the hard invasion combined with some other mod I can't remember.

I didn't want to anounce it before I started working, since I wasn't sure it would end up the way I planned. If anybody wants to complete it, I think I still have the files lying around here somewhere.

you're right, that was just a suggestion (originally it was meant to be 800, but the Carolingian emipre would be way tooooooo large :)

if you're interested, we're currently making a mod Arabia Universalis for For the Glory (boosted Europa Universalis II)

I updated the first post. I hope I didn't forget anything
