View Full Version : The Best Army
What do you think?
I for one thinks that an army with 1/3 spearman and 2/3 archers will pawn all...
Or in Arabia (I can defeat the Bizantium army easily in Hard with HR 1.7 installed)
[I just remember KoH is still on my Grandpa house computer.
So I can play every weekend]
(PS: And I still play right now)

2/3 men-at-arms 1/3 archers
I have cavalary armys, so that they move faster
The army composition completely depends on it's purpose, whether it is for capturing towns, dealing with rebels, etc. However, I think that a universal army would have 3 squads of infantry, 3 squads of archers, 2 squads of cavalry and a squad of spearmen. Also, its a fact that archers are overpowered in KoH.
Yeah, so I mostly used 6 squads of archers (my favourite would be the Longbowmen. You know why! I even mod so England can used LongBowmen as they KUU (Kingdom Unique Units)
Six squads of saracens and three squads of desert archers,or 3 squads saracens,3 squads of archers and 3 squads of mameluks or ghulam cavalry. Mameluks and saracens are very cheap and this is a kind of bonus for Arabic kingdoms.
Whith Nicea i play with combination of janissers ,roman infantry and cataphracts or/and varangians. Deadly combination.

u can get crusader by calling him back,If ur spy get a crusade mission.Crusade crossbowman is a deadly missile unit. In my opinion,Mameluks+Roman Infantry+CC
Isn't it is the same as the Heavy Crossbow?
(PS: To get HC you need to switch to Papacy...)

Heavy Crossbowmen are produced in Toscana, I believe. Maybe in Rome too.
And in Catalonia I think....
Yeah, but the easiest way is to switch to Papacy because it get HC as it's Kingdom Unique Units...

In my opinion best army is 7 infantry and 2 cavalry or 2 ranged in case u don't have cavalry cuz most of time AI clashes into you so mass archers won't be good execpt mounted archers and janisaryes....and mass cavlary also useles if you encounter spearmen army.
Me thinks that an army of 3 heavy crossbowmen and 6 teutonic knights are the best, second comes and army with only longbowmen.
I always use 3-4 archers, and 5-6 infantry.
Cavalry is not suited to use in sieges, so why pay so much for an unit you can only use in the field?
Sometimes i use an prince or king with an all horse army to battle rebels or enemy troops when my other marshals are on conquest or busy.
bosnia is the best
