View Full Version : i saw a disappointing factor
at the ripper's little show off movie there is a part with a lot of explosions but the environment is unarmed, the ground and all the plants around looks unthouched. i was hoping that the environment will be fully dynamic like some other games for an example: "company of heroes" where you can boomed a hill and it will be flaten or every thing is destroy able... this game graphic is a sexy looking but if the environment is static then the bottom line is that the game will lose its good looks.
by the way sorry for my english i know that i raped the language but its not my native :)

Indeed, I think if it's going to be a "Next-gen" pretty game engine/graphics then features like vegetation/scenery/ground damage should definitely be included. However if the multiplayer was to be competitive (even semi-close to WC3 or SC) then balancing these sort of vaguely controllable elements so that blatent exploits or imbalances couldn't be easily abused would be a formidable job for a smaller company such as Black Seas Studios (compared to giants like Blizzard).

Giants like Blizzard... please, they have 3 or 4 games! (one with expansons, but anyway...)
And please, don't compare WS with SC! ( comparisons like that just scare me... :P )

Blizzard is a giant and I am a StarCraft fanboy. BUT the two games cannot be compared. StarCraft 2 will probably be more popular because of the strong community. No one can at this point say which game will be better. I will play both along with Quake Wars(which I bought but I cant play because of slow video)
Well, ok, let's not bring the debate about SC in here, but I just hope WS won't look like it.
(or have the same requirements [as SC 2], couse I won't be able to run it)

SC 2 will run on low-med end machines. The Shift will do the same I hope.

SC 2 will require DirectX 10, so I hightly doubt that.

Nope, it will be compatible with DX10 but it is not even known if there will be any special DX10 effects.
