Hi, I recently heard about your game from IGN and I must say It got my quite interested in it.

I even made some forum threads/topics on several big StarCraft communities hoping you can get some feedback on the game thus far.

Here it is on my site I made and own:

Why are you putting the game in SC sites? Of course the fans will say the game is a ripoff.

Also, are you the guy with the nick "newspartan" I played StarCraft a few times. I see you play WoW and you may be the same guy. I am jediguardian1374 from your skype contacts

you know what drives me crazy. When people say that one game is a rip off of another. I could easily say that WS ripped off the spacemarines from DoW. BUT WHO CARES. The game will be awesome. And as far as I am concerned cannot be compared to SC2. They are taking RTS in two different directions.

I cannot agree more!

Hello Spartan, welcome to our forum. Your understanding of the "essence of WordShift" is one of the best I've seen so far .. quite good thinking :)

Although, comparing WorldShift with other RTS games based ONLY on the simple fact that some WorldShift units wear protective armor and use energy weapons is ... well ... quite funny. Also, cyber-fantasy and sci-fi are very different things :)

Anyway. you are right .. the PvE game-play in WorldShift can be described the way you did: There are up to 3 players, each controlling an entire "ride" and they try to do their best in terms of "team-work" in order to defeat many custom scripted and designed challenges.

However, as you can imagine, WorldShift is at the end an RTS game! So, direct comparison with MMORPG games is not always correct. Some game mechanics that works well in MMORPG environment simply cant work in RTS environment. And of course, there are a lot other game-play elements in WorldShift, that can't be easily made fit into MMO game.

I thought the max players will be 6?

I thought the max players will be 6?

It is for PvP. In PvE 3 is the maximum. And so far it works well. Also it is much easier to find and arrange teams with that number.

PvE
What's PvE ? (actually, what's 'E' ? )

:crushed: :crushed: PvE is short for Player versus Enemy hence PvE

E stands for environment

Richard's right - E stands for environment... So, one 'team' can have max 3 players in any case - be it PvP or PvE...

Enemy  It is Player versus Environment as the others said.

Well, enemy is kinda logical too - after all, I doubt many games would ask the player to fight against his allies and not against his enemies... ;)

So it looks like Worldshift is an rts plus rpg with some mmo elements put in as well. Is that roughly accurate?

Oh, why is everyone comparing Worldshift with RPGs or MMOs ?? (in one way or another...)
I just want an RTS! (though it better be good... :P )

Well havn't you read about all the artifact collecting missions with hero or officer or whatever units, and the multiplayer stuff too? Those areas make me think of rpg and mmo.
