hook processes?

Hio not sure if anyone else has had this problem or if it is old news and im behind in not knowing ho to fix it but here is teh error msg

"Conflict: a hook process was found. Please deactivate all Antivirus and Anti-Trogan programs and debuggers"

this msg apears as soon as I try to start up KoH, this is a new instal with no mods or patches, I have run KoH before on this machine, with out this problem and recently off my iPod onto this machine to avoid the hook process and that works but not off the machine it self.

im a little leary to shutdown my antivirus but did anyway and it did not he solve the problem so i promptly turned it back on.

any help would be great

well i patched it to 1.05 and it seems to work, guess i should have patched it first oh well

Yes, prior to the 1.05 patch(which deactivates the copy protect), the copy protect sysytem and certain antivrus programs did not cooperate, causing the hook process. The most notorious of AV's to cause this problem was Norton.

I have Symantec Antivirus running and a Zonealarm fire wall if that also helps anyone with this problem as well

Symantec. Let's see, that is Norton, correct? And that would be the problem.

Shoot! I have Norton AV Enterprise! Well, it is already patched to 1.5, anyway...
