Do you have what it takes to walk in the footsteps of William the Conqueror?
For those of us who have Knights of Honor (KoH), let's see who can repeat his feats in the shortest amount of time.
GAME PARAMETERS
Era: Early
Kingdom: Normandy
Difficulty: Hard
Pause During Battles: Optional
Game Clock: Yes (hit F11)
To complete the quest, start with the Game Parameters listed above, conquer all of the English provinces, and eliminate the English Earldoms.
Take a screenshot of your Reunification screen with the time showing, and paste it in this thread.
Additional Rules
No cheats
You can fight the battles yourself, or have the AI resolve them.
You can post another screenshot if you repeat the quest with a faster time.
For the most recent patch (1.05)
If you don't beat the top player, feel free to post your time anyways.
Also feel free to post AAR's and genealogies in separate threads.

My contribution. I won the game in 54 minutes and 40 seconds. It was tough, very tough.

In short how I won -
So, wanting to be quick, I gathered 2 armies, 1 of Axemen and 1 of Peasants. I marched these armies to the flank of Anglia. It turns out Anglia was in Agressive mode, and had 3 full marshals of peasants, and 1 full marshal of Spearmen. One of those Spearmen armies reinforced my siege, so I pulled back to try again, but led the battle.
I lost most of my men, but won.
I rehabilitated quickly, and trained Axemen from my home base and took the defending Peasants to my army, while training my new found Spearmen.
Eventually I refilled my main army with Spearmen and axemen, and the other all peasants. I went after the final Anglia Kingdom. I wasn't sure how to win, so I tried one thing I knew would work - luring. I started raiding a village with both marshals, and sure enough each enemy marshal came out to attack. I lead the battles to take fewer losses, and won both battles quickly, at the cost of about 150 out of 350 peasants.
I sieged the town and won.
Then came wessex. It looked easy enough, Anglia had been hitting them badly. So I sieged. Two full marshals and a full town defense, agh. So again I lured, but they had a full army of Swordsman, which really crippled my army. I beat 1 of the 2, the other wouldn't come out.
I hired my Prince to be a marshal, and trained spearmen, axemen, archers, and a unit of Longbowmen. I attacked with him and my original main army and won.
Then York. I sent two of the marshals (the newest and the original main) to East Anglia and Kent to get full archers and Spearmen, and had one of them get some axemen from Normandy. shortly, the two armies were full and ready for battle. I sent them to York. Again, it seemed like an easy battle, but no, he had 3 full armies, 1 of spearmen and 1 of swordsman, and 1 of peasants. I did a little trick (may almost be considered a cheat?) I got both marshals right next to the town, and saw the Spearmen and Peasant army coming after me, followed by the Swordsmen. I declared war, then attacked with both marshals imediately. The enemy came so close to me, but I took it a second before they could reinforce the battle. They all decided to raid my villages (save the peasants who went back to York).
It was all very, very fun :) If anyone is really interested, I could send you the saves (I have 3, one early game, one mid game, one late game)

I'm also playing as William the Conqueror,but until Mr.William died I only conquered 3 province of Britian. It's my first time to attemp vision 1.05, my archer keep hurting my own troop even i'm level 3 archer skill. Do you have any idea how to efficiently control archers or i will have to hire a pure melee army.Please give me some suggestions!

The Archery skill on 3rd level gave 100% lack of friendly fire only before the 1.05 patch. With the new patch, a 3rd level on Archery gives only 50% friendly fire (i.e. whatever you do, be careful with those archers if you're engaging in melee while they're shooting).

Waht is your favorite structure of your troop in 1.05?
wich countrys in the game have reunification missions like the normans?
there should be a list of these kingdoms somewhere here...
but those I remember right now, they are: Nicaea, Trebizond and Epirus can unite Byzantiia
Cordoba can unite Almohads, Russian princedoms can unite Russia (but not Kazan), Seljuks can unite Ottomans, irish earldoms can unite Ireland, as well as Highlands and Lothian can unite Scotland,
Turnovo, Bdin and Dobrudja can unite Bulgaria, Zeta can unite Serbia, Castile, Aragon and Leon can unite Spain, did I forget any?

well, actually when I played with Spain I conquered some provinces and 2 islands and an unification note came that changes the name of Spain into Aragon...

oh yes, that is the March of Spain in early period,but in high and late kingdom of Spain can be united

Seemed like a worthy challenge so i thought i would give it a try it
Was kinda easy with only those parameters, i completed the challenge on 25 min 40 sec, so kinda shattered the old record posted in this thread.
If you want screenshoots let me know cuz i took em just in case :P
btw here is how i did it, starts with making merchants out of royal family so i get good gold income buy another and another merchant total of 5 with good trading partners for gold, make training grounds + swordsmith buy another marshals then start taking the 5 counties i need to complete England and while i did it i also maxed out kingdom power. All in all pretty easy

I achieved unification in 29:55. I basically had the same tactic as nors, but the killer was that East Anglia had taken an extra province and i had to eliminate the stinkers.
Thus i ended up with extra real estate but missed the mark on the best time. I am currently trying to do a speed time for unifying Russia starting with Kazan. Fun!

Don't forget to adopt orthodoxy if you aim for teh quest unificztion

Wow, nice job! I want to try again and see if I can do better then last time. What provinces are needed to reunite Russia?
