View Full Version : Some Tools
Hello People,
Next week, we plan to put for download a number of tools we used back then to create .RLE files and also, to convert .RLE files back to uncompressed generic images. Let's just hope nothing is lost in the meantime!
Great news! :go:
There is a .RLE <-> .PNG converter available on SF boards (still) and a new one is in development using C++ and .bmp, but this won't be necessary anymore!
that would be very nice...
do you plan to reveal also some more info about the Mapeditor? Primarily we need some help with political maps drawing. It would be great if you could help us (within 2 weeks I'm finnished with exams and I will finally have time so I'd like to finaly make new map for KoH)

Well, on the one hand we should be happy that they want to provide programs for us.
But on the other hand, it was a really long week^^

oh yes, I am grateful that they still don't proclaim KoH as dead game... and promisse support, that's really great (honestly)
if they "give us" such tool that would be great, on the other hand they promise something we in fact have (and noone uses it) and things wee need (editor advices) and would definitely use they don't even give us advices :(
Uhmm .. I know I know :) .. It's been a pure hell recently over here and we just had no time to prepare a follow up on this :(
it's ok :go:
just that you even said a time when it comes what is very unusual so we are surprised that even in this case there is still nothing.. but I think we all understand that you all have now diferent things to do..
just that very little from you now would help us a lot.. :go:

guys, have anyone managed to do something with the ".RLE <-> .PNG converter" Doux refered to?
or is there any development on this?
I just wonder, because I changed unit icons, but they work only if the unit is first shown in a mercenary camp. When I bought it normally from a city, it didn't work. And even when a unit from mercenary camp that had diferent icon on a battlefield entered a city, the icon changed back to the "original-pattern"
so to make the units have just at least diferent icons .RLE editor is a need

well, I think that at the stage I am now I won't need it before september, there are still many things to do on the mod, but if something would happen, it would be great :go:
Frujin, could I urge you with humbleness to put the tools online? You could at least bring us this
"C:\Documents and Settings\Veso.FRUJIN\Desktop\ImgView.exe" to view the .RLE files, but even better it would be to have the tools to convert from RLE to an editable format! It shouldn't take up too much of the valuable and rather stressed time. Thanks in advance!
when the tools come????!!!
