View Full Version : 17 April: Releasedate?
Well, I am a little bit confused, cause I found this information on several german gaming sites but not on even one of the official sites (or any english/international gaming site) ...
For example on gamestar.de (http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc/spiele/strategie/echtzeit/worldshift/1477231/worldshift.html) or gamona.de (http://www.gamona.de/pc/news/detail/id-releasetermin_steht_fest_601867.htm) your can read, that - according to the publisher RTL Games (well, there isn't any information on their site ...)- the game is going to be released on April 17th.
About the Open Beta you can find the same informations. According to gamona.de (http://www.gamona.de/pc/news/detail/id-gewinnspiel_keys_fuer_die_multiplayer_be_602813.ht m) the Open Beta starts this months (you can win one of 30 Beta Keys there [and on some other -again- german gaming sites]).
And there are some pictures of "the Hive" Units (somehow some of them reminds me of some kind of protoss-zerg-hybrid xD ... I have played to much StarCraft lately lol) on this site: pcgh.de (http://www.pcgameshardware.de/?menu=browser&article_id=628960&image_id=762477) (Oh my god, it's a german site =O)
I just want to know, if these informations are fake or not. I am not really sure because, like I said before, there aren't any informations on one of the official sites.
Hello, there is going to be information on the official web site in near future. Hey, I mean 'near' ... seriously :)

LOL I would be very disappointed if the open beta requires some keys to play it. Just make it really OPEN ;)
Now is the 8th February, have 3 days passed. Is it still catogarized near?
Edit: I have interesting news. At this Worldshift german official site (yes there is one) http://www.worldshift.de/ there are some information about the beta. Unfortunately I can't read them. I request some germans to go there and read it...
Well, the German site says it's not OB, but CB (in Frujin-speech), that it's coming near and that you can win some of those Closed-Beta-Keys from the linked sites below.
What a strange marketing strategy to make the closed bèta (and how to win a key) known only to German-speaking people.
T'is must be the RTL idea? ;)
Not I have a problem with it, thought...
Wasn't RTL supposed to publish it in German and Internationally?
Why am I having the impression that German-Bulgarian alliances always lead both sides to lose the world wars? :p
Anyway, I do hope that after this initial closed-beta round (and its following bug-fixes) there will be an open-beta round (if there is time)!
:(
So no Ob for us here huh?
Why am I having the impression that German-Bulgarian alliances always lead both sides to lose the world wars?
you aren't the only one. :/
Relax people. We are working on the announcement as we speak. :) There is going to be 5000 users Closed Beta for a short time and when it's over .. 25 000 more users Open Beta.
The Beta will be hosted by FilePlanet and will be launched .... *drums roll* .. in few days if all is fine .. that is!! No promise, hey!
The both closed and open beta keys will be served as "first come - first gets", so be sure you are the first to register and to take your key.

4 days is the 12th of February right?

Actually we won their battles, they lost our wars.

OMG THE NEW SCREENS PWNZoOR :D
I really like the unit interface. Not taking much space, you can see more of the battlefield.
Frujin you officially pwned me ninja style with the new shots and news about the beta!
   :p :D
Frujin, I am confused (again).
As I understand it, the only difference between "close" and "open" is the user limit? Both are openly accessible as long as there are keys left.
So, close beta is not close? Then why call it "close"? :-)
Am I missing something?

Open because it will be open to more people and closed because it will be closed to more people :D :D
I think that will be good every user of this forum to have a privilege of this beta.
cool :D never doubted you Frujin ;)
1 question, do we need to have a subscribe accounts or will a free acct get me to the beta?

I think that will be good every user of this forum to have a privilege of this beta.
Maybe just bonus keys if any of us can't get beta keys. And not all users but only those who actually participated in the discussions.
Probably it will be good idea to post some minimum requirements, before the open beta is started  . In my case, for example, I have a bit old computer and I am not sure it will run, however it is not the worst, and I will probably try to get a code ... then if it does not run it will be a loss for you (as it is -1 tester), and for someone else (if I have it and my machine is a lot below I will not get and someone else will get the chanse to try) and however I will not be happy as well, because I will not play. And I doubt mine case is the only like that.

System requirements will be posted when they are ready.
System requirements will be posted when they are ready.
Read that, but I think it has to be before the open beta. And actually I do not mean that they should be very precise but there should be something, but imagine for example I get a code and you are the first who does not, and it occurs that I cannot run the game ... (I will start repeating myself if I continiue).
It was just kind of reminder (I doubt that they haven't thought of that, but prefered to say it ;) ).
Em, I preferred to get a bonus key.
I will not be able to dl a game. From the net :bash:

Why won't you be able to dl the game?
@Roso - I am sure the requirements will be posted with the news about the closed beta start.
the bandwith is just 1 GB, for a month. And if I exceed the bandwith too much, I'll die
I think that thare is no need of BSS telling the requirements.
Beta is for this to understand the requirements and kill bugs.

Beta is for the requirements only if it is developer only.
Game testing is done on different and various PC configurations, so the more "open testers" test the game on their own PC configurations, the better the results should be (in a very simplified logic). Of course, in reality it's a bit more complicated, but still - the more people test it, the better should the system requirements be defined (though I hope the game has been tested before too, so some (not final) sysreqs could be given now )...
