I died on the second mission. Even though i clicked on the 'flash' symbol (waypoint marker) and it said 'active', when i died it seemed that i started at the beginning of the map again. however, the fog of war was gone and i was able to see the areas on the minimap that i had previously explored and i saw the enemy units and their movements.
