Well I just bought the game from gamersgate.com and sadly I don't have any sound at all after I finnish installing it. My brothers computer has sound a-ok, and I even played the demo from gamespot.com and it had sound as well but now my full version dosn't.

When I installed the game and launched it for the first time it gave me the option to "disable" sound, now I didn't push the option (it was in the same window as choice for resolution), but I'm guessing it some how got checked... I dunno. The reason I think it got clicked or some how activated is because every other game/program/CD works on my computer. I even checked to see if they had new sound drivers but I'm currently 100% updated. I uninstalled the game 3+ times, deleating all releated files and redownloading it via gamersgate, still nothing.

I will point out that it never brings up that option window to mess with my resolution and to click "disable sound" which I think is odd... its like some cookie type file is holding on to my origonal preferences. I tryed to look in the program files and I even read the readme file where it says to find the config you need to go to C:>Program Files>Black Sea Studios> Knights of Honor> Configure Knights of Honor. This how'ever is impossible for me as I downloaded it via gamers gate and it goes like this in reality for me C:>Program Files> Knights of Honor> Few files none which are configure.

I'm at the end of my trouble shooting rope, any ideas, I want my sound back  .

Try running Knights of Honor the following way (which is actually the 'config' way):
Make a new shortcut on your desktop with the path to point to:
"C:\Program Files\Black Sea Studios\Knights Of Honor\KoH.exe" /c
including the ". This pops up the configuration screen at startup.

How would I do that if my directory goes Program Files> Knights of Honor? Inside my KoH folder I have various files I'll list them:

-packs
-system
-binkw32.dll
-KoH (can be used to start the game)
-Readme (with info such as the stuff your stating, but again my directory is differnt from wht it says)
-unins000
-unins000 (this file actualy uninstalls)

Inside packs you find:
-defs
-fonts
-images
-logos
-screens
-screens.pk2
-sounds
-structures
-templates
-texts
-units
-voice
-europe
-historical
-intro
-multiplayer
-screens.pk1
-cripts
-sounds.pk1
-strucutres.pk1
-terrain
-tutorial
-units.pk1
-voice.pk1

System has:
-ogg.dll
-vorbis.dll
-vorbisfile.dll

Sadly I don't see any configure file at all within the KoH folder, and it always installs this way when I download it from gamersgate.com I've even tryed uninstalling it, cleaning my drive off and reinstalling it (as well as redownloading). Oddly enough the sound works 100% on my brothers computer which is running on vista haha. I would think vista would have had problems not XP. Anyways ask me if you need any more info even if I go to the folder on the start bar it only has the option to play the game not configure it. Even preferences in the game does nothing. I thank you for helping me, hopefuly one of us stumbles on a fix haha.;)

You right-click at KoH shorcuts in your desktop, and copy the Doux's lines to the target program line...
Trust him, it's works...

Your KoH installation is no problem, Endor, it will work just fine. As IWM pointed out, right-click on your dektop, point to New -> Shortcut and select it. Then you are prompted to give a path, use:

"C:\Program Files\Black Sea Studios\Knights Of Honor\KoH.exe" /c

Confirm the path, give the shortcut a name and then run it. The configuration screen should then pop up, since KoH.exe has been given the parameter "/c".

I did as you told me and it says "The file C:\Program cannot be found.

I think it has somthing to do with the fact that when the game was installed it installed to "C:\Program Files\Knights of Honor\" I don't have a Black Sea Studios folder at all. I did try using "C;\Program Files\Knights of Honor\KoH.exe" but the shortcut just runs the game like normal... without sound :p

At least I know that with my computer I shouldn't use "Black Sea Studios" as I don't have that folder, on the other hand I still don't know how to make it bring up the origonal configuration window.

Edit: After playing around with the stuff you told me about I deleted the "black sea studios" folder directory, that worked but I didn't realise you wanted me to have the quotes, so I added those to no effect, then I realised you also wanted me to do the /c that fixed it and for some reason it thought I wanted to disable the sound... which is odd seeing as I didn't click the box when I installed the first time. Well that mystery is all solved. Thank you VERY much Doux and IWM if you were here I'd give you a hug of joy :D
