Exactly how many updates should there be. I have tried to log in 3 times and each time it tells me there is an update. i download and install the update and then it tells me there is another update... whats the problem here. ?

3 updates till now and apparently another one coming tonight.
There seems to be an update every evening.

I just had this problem.
Try to do a manual patch install try login if it doesnt work reinstall the woldshift beta overtop the first install. Dont uninstall the beta just install over it.
This was confusing for me also. I thought the patching process was looping since i had to keep downloading patches over and over again. There should be some sort of info about the patch such as a version number displayed or something to that effect just to let us know that we are upgrading to the latest version and not inadvertently downloading the same patch and installing while silently failing and then re-downloading.... But after the patching process was complete, everything was great, no issues experienced.

Since this is the Alpha you can expect a lot of updates. They are improving the game based on our forum chat. I have been in other alpha testing and at this level there will be more dialog between us and the developers. I would be surprised if we did not get a update every 2 days. With all this input we are giving them, it is perfectly normal to have to download many updates. I love being in on this level of the game development cycle.

there is a version number in bottom right

Yea, Bizerk is right. I have done other Alpha tests and they do update alot based on what we find. Thanks for finding the version number Dante also. I was wondering if they posted one for it.
