Well, with a lack of information about what you were doing at the time on KoH, I can't really do much to help you out.

Is your computer or perhaps graphics card up to date with what KoH requires?

I found KoH to be remarkably stable, so it's likely that you're experiencing a local problem.
You have talked about modding once or twice. Do the crashes happen with any mods installed?

Yes.But I only mod the units.xls and units.txt
Maybe because I installed GOG version 1.6
that mod is made with patch 1.3 right?
don't worry I have un-installed it now

Yes, GoG 1.6 is going to cause problems since it expects version 1.03.
Come back if the problem persists without any modifications.

Generally, when a 3d graphics program crashes it can be a good idea to restart the computer to get rid of all eventual driver problems that may have caused the crash or could have been caused by the crash.
And a wild guess: Are you sure the problem wasn't heat related? KoH isn't a very cpu-intensive program but around this time of the year many people complain about unstable computers. ;)
Also, when you say "no other programs" does that mean that background programs like anti-virus software and the likes were still active or also disabled?
Check back if it wasn't a one-off situation so we can track down the problem.

By "no programs open" i mean that i wasn't playing with firefox, msn messenger or itunes open at the same time... my antivirus was active.
I have a strong pc, and i been playing Koh for years now... and it never happened...
The mod must have made some conflict with the game or something

Maybe a conflict?
Have you clean your registry?
