Hello.
That is a rather open question. Is there any specific topic or mechanism that you don't understand?

Hello.

Yes i am sorry for the open question......for example what buildings are the most important?........I am new to KOH but a veteran of the Total war series,......I know that an answer might not be as simple as a paragraph as opposed to 1000 words......from what i can tell so far the game is very deep and challenging......do i start on easy? and for the first few hours of my campaign any advice?

good buildings to start are always basic ones such as inn, toolsmith and town watch...

as soon as you have enough money, build palisade to protect your cities

and as soon as you can build those buildings that produce trade goods (!)

also when you start it is good to assign at least one merchant to increase your income, for spies use mostly royal family members

before you start warring build up your kingdom's economy, but I think it's very logical..

When you have a strong empire and a strong economy, try to build a cathedral (if you can) or a University. Also build a fishmonger then a dock, and just continue upgrading the dock, you get lots of money and you can eventualy import rare resources. Here are some other suggestions:

To build Fuedal Knights - Plate Armourer, Stable, Sword Mastersmithy, Horses

*To build Templars - Chain-mail workshop, Sword Mastersmithy, Church, Catholic religion

*To build Teutonic Knights - Plate Armourer, Sword Mastersmithy, Church, Catholic Religion

Also, try to built a swordsmith, fletcher, hostel and an armoury if you are planning to go to war early, they really help build swordsmen and archers while your population has a high morale.

* You can only build them in special regions of the world, Templars are usually built in France and sometimes Spain, and Teutonic Knights in Northern Germany, and sometimes Eastern Germany

Hey.. heres my piece of advice, and how i play the campaings.

First, set your king and prince (if you have one, or two) as merchants... i recommend having at least 4 or 5 merchants. Make those merchants trade with other kingdoms, to do this you gotta sing trade agreements with them... most kingdoms will deny your offer of signing this agreement, but the non powerful will agree.
Once you have your merchant team working... i recomend you to sign peace treats with any kingdom you start in war...
Then i would recommend you to set your kingdom power to 5, as this gives you money (remember, money is the key for winning the game)

Once all the economic features are set... (merchants, kingdom power, etc) you should see what units are available to recruit in your town and then build the buildings you need in order to recruit them
Most of the times, you'll need this buildings:
-training grounds (if you dont have anyone yet, as most of the times all towns already have on)
-sword smith
-armory
-chain mail workshop
-fletcher

Once you've built these buildings.. you can recruit soldiers. If available, recruit 3 or 4 men-at-arms, 3 archers and regular swordsman.
You will then have a decent army.... then you should go to political view and look for a non-powerful neighboring kingdom and send your marshal there... when you arrive, ask him for money, and if he refuses to give you some, declare war... and plunder! (this gives you xp and money) REMEMBER NOT DECLARING WAR TO A LOVED KINGDOM as all his friends will hate you if you do so.

Once you've plundered enough, conquer the main city... you will then have 2 towns.. and i would recommend to hire a new marshal.

You've gotta remember to conquer neighboring provinces and not conquer those that are far away as you will have a lot of problems to deal with. And remember to conquer at a speed that will allow you to keep those provinces... for example, if you conquer 5 provinces with one marshal in 20 minutes, you will then need to be able to defend all 5 provinces from your enemy's and you will NOT be able to do that with one marshal.

So... 1st, economy, 2nd create army and conquer one or two towns.... then, make peace and build in your cities... walls, granary, workshops, everything....

I hope this peace of info will be useful for u!

I see you want a stratagy guild!

For me it depends what faction, but on average, I do this.

I build a Town Watch, an Inn, a hostiliar, a Granary, a barracks, a weapon smith (depends on what is needed. most likely swordsmith), then I use my King as a marshle and my son as a merchant.

I attack a nearby nation and continue building up.

But why attack so early?

The AI always starts out slow, only the Big Guns wiuth completely built up buildings to start will use units other than peasants.

you will then need to be able to defend all 5 provinces from your enemy's and you will NOT be able to do that with one marshal.

Buy stratagy, and at each town, refill, and one marshal should run around a good amount :)

Haha i hate running around... usually i dont start war early.. actually i start it with only one kingdom... once i've wiped it out, i start war with another.

I start wars with tons of nations at once and whipe them out all the same.

Like as Bohemia, I will push alittle at germany, get about 3 territories, get about 3 from Poland and Hungary, get anotehr marshal, destroy germany with one and Poland and hungary with the other.

I prefere any other expansion than conquest:
royal marriages, espionage

if there is other way to get some land I prefere it over war... so I mostly start wars only if
1) my ally is in danger
2) there is a kingdom which I'd like to improve my relations with - I look who are their enemies and declare war on them
3) the kingdom is witohuot strong ally and there is no other way to get it's land.. and I need it fast

it really helps to have good diplomatic relations with my neighbours as well as it keeps my population happy, and my finances balanced so I can spend money also on economical development, not only on army (and those who played HR mod know how it is hard to have enough money)
