Help!

Okay, I'm going to sound stupid probably because i am.

This game looks liek it will be soo much fun... But i cant last 20 minutes into it before being Crushed because I pretty much dont know what to buy first with only a 1000 pieces of gold which is usually already declining right when i start. So naturally i buy one thing and then have no money and die. Havnt got much passed that yet and i dont want to cheat and get money.

Some helpful start up tips for a rookie like me would be awesome if you dont want to just dont post. I feel bad enough seeing all the posts on here everyone is looking forward to conquering KOH2 and i cant even start KOH1... :bash:

hi, Pappas, it's absolutely ok, many had same problems, you just discovered this game little later, so don't be afraid, you don't sound (and you definitely are not) stupid :go:

in the start, the most important thing is to boost your economy as fast as possible. For that Merchants are the best tool. So first thing I do in all my games is that I pause the game (PAUSE key) and look around and try to sign some trade agreement if I don't have any. Then assign my king or prince (or buy a new knight) as a merchant and send him to trade for gold, he earns you money so you can continue building your empire. Then you can send your marshal to plunder in enemy territories (if you are at war), it also gives you some money...

and build some simple and cheap biuldings first so you have some money left for soldiers.. prefere those that produce some trade good (if you have, so salt mine, hunters huts, hoese breeding farm, apiary etc.) these trade buildings also help you to be more successfull in signing trade agreements.
